1A. Anyone can sponsor and they will be given a thank you shout out in my weekly results page. @davemccoy came up with and helps to run #newbieresteemday and they have directed a bunch of people to the game so he gave a donation last night.
I prefer upvote donations be without noise, on the contest page, so that players entries don't get buried by bot adverts. There are bots that don't advertise when they upvote and I prefer those on the contest page. I will do a post on bots that advert when they upvote at some point in time so that people will have a list to use.
I will take direct wallet donations; if I receive a direct wallet transfer I will leave a comment in the current contest letting everyone know about additional amount added to contest. Depending on when this is given I may throw it to a non-bid bot to increase payout of contest, I will only transfer to bots that increase SBD payout above donation. ie. I won't gamble a sponsors money on bid bots as the contest could loose money doing that, only guaranteed upvote worth more than bid.
2A. No minimum to donate, on the contest results I add the people that resteemed it as well because they helped to sponsor us by giving visibility.
3A. The original idea behind this contest was to help get the redfish off of Steemit's (welfare/newbie) delegations and a way for me to participate in #newbieresteem day without overflowing my feed with resteems. I feel this contest is a good way I can help people get their work not only resteemed but also read, as the rules say you have to vote for someone else. I was/am really interested in trying to get people off of steemits delegation list so that more new users can join steemit...
Winner of contest must be a redfish with less than 1000 SP, preferably never having powered down. Part of my goal with this contest is to try to help with new user retention here on steemit.
I have to think a little more about how I am going to approach sponsors. I will announce with next weeks contest how sponsoring will look . I will probably let a sponsor enter an article as a thank you but not let them win if they don't meet criteria <1000SP.
Long term, if we get enough sponsors, I may entertain a sub-vote for best sponsored post?? <--- I have a week to roll this idea around in my head but at the moment
