Before it was a hit Amazon Prime Video series, Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's The Boys was a scathing, unwavering massacre of superhuman figures of speech and the genre in general. To make the disdain for caped crusaders considerably more blatant, it stars several plain to see pastiches of popular superheroes, who are as a general rule seriously curved imitations.

One example of the series' shameless takedown of the popular hero genre is Soldier Boy, who is portrayed by Jensen Ackles in the true to life iteration of the series. With a strong feeling of patriotism and a decades-in length legacy, Soldier Boy is blatant commentary and slap in the face to Marvel's Captain America. This is the way he was handled in the comics, and how the TV show adaptation of The Boys somewhat turned around him.

Soldier Boy originally appeared in the altogether debauchery of Garth Ennis, John McCrea and Keith Burns' Herogasm #1, with his own feeling of blamelessness and chivalry holding him back from engaging in the title's famous licentiousness. Ironically, he actually engages in relations with Homelander, trusting that to be a necessity prior to joining the Seven. This may mirror Ennis' own sensations of Captain America being mediocre compared to Superman.

His general plan inspires several other patriotic legends all through comic book history. Along with his believed safeguard, he has superhuman strength, speed and other faculties that put him far above a normal human, however not nearly on the same level as Homelander.

His claims to have served in World War II are both valid and false, with the Soldier Boy moniker being a legacy title dating back to WWII. The original Soldier Boy drove an adversary troop to the Allied Base, with his idiocy bringing about various deaths. While he could have been marginally smarter, the present-day Soldier Boy was subtly a gigantic coward.

One major distinction in the TV show adaptation of The Boys is that Soldier Boy is turned upward to by Homelander instead of the other way around. He's also the unrivaled Soldier Boy, making him a "man in a tight spot" and further remarking on Captain America. Soldier Boy was the first and one of the most grounded supes, being second just to Homelander himself.

His large, disorderly persona is actually very repellant to ladies, and he generally hopes to be turned upward to instead of addressed. Notwithstanding this, he's ultimately a brave figure, planning to assist Billy With butchering take down Homelander for the last time. He's not exactly the rube that he was in the comics, being turned upward to by some and having considerably more of a respectable feeling. This drives his disdain for being abandoned for such countless years, causing him to scorn the nation and government he once battled for.

There were several aspects of Soldier Boy's character that totally lampooned Captain America, although some of them are considerably more unobtrusive than others. His being a patriotic hero with a safeguard for a weapon and a militaristic theme make an undeniable association. And past that, his most memorable team was called the Avenging Squad, an undeniable allusion to the Avengers, who eventually became the similarly named Payback. The team included other individuals, for example, Tek Knight, Mind-Droid and Crimson Countess, who were clear pastiches of Captain America's teammates Iron Man, The Vision and Scarlet Witch. The "Brilliant Age" Avenging Squad may have also homage the Golden Age Marvel team All-Winners Squad, which also considered Captain America as a part of its individuals

There being different Soldier Boys since the original also makes fun of a less popular aspect of Captain America's character. Steve Rogers had whenever been replaced as Captain America during the 1950s when he was as yet trapped in a block of ice, transforming the job into a legacy title. Past these surface-level aspects, nonetheless, Soldier Boy is a far more cynical and pathetic character than the Sentinel of Liberty, with his representation of America leaving the flag a lot of lower than half-mast.
