Yesterday was my twin nephew's birthday. Me and my friends who had been staying over got to meet up with the activities. People were all over the place. Children, adults, children who dressed like adults and adults who dressed like children. One year old birthdays are for the kids right? So why are there so many adults.
Be for the birthday, there was this long conversation about when exactly the birthday is. These kids were kept in a incubator and that's why the whole family was confused. I'm a medical student, I would have put them straight if they were so confused about it. Only for them to have me look like my unobservant dad. The man doesn't pay attention to what's going on. He is usually in his head. That's how I am. In my head a lot of things make sense but people aren't talking about it. But people want me to thinking about what they are talking about.
I had the responsibility of a father before the event. I had to handle all the money. Provide money for transport and pay for some other essentials. It made me feel weird, I wasn't sure who I was anymore. I'm typically this playful person and now I'm being saddled with responsibility. I'm one of the last kids though, so I've watched my elder brother do this a lot. Keeping a frown on your face is key.
I went out to withdraw money under the really depressing sun. It felt like it would kill me. Then I bought some local food we usually have for event like this, Fufu. The driver came over with me after I bargained the price of the fair to be 25% of his initial price. Those are not things I usually do, I let the older members of the family handle it. But where are they? I don't know. They are probably off somewhere having kids and having me stress over it.
The laaaay deeeeees all got in the tricycle cab. They arrived earlier than me and my friends. My dad simply did not go. We the guys took a long walk down the road and took two cabs. I did it to save money. No luxury for guys, we don't need it. Its even better the sun roasts you so you realise just how hot it is and admit that that's life and start to deal with it.
When we got there, there were canopies and kids and their parents. Kids run around. Its what they do. Parents chase them about. That's how things go. People without kids slowly start to become so obvious around crowds like this. Where is your own kid to chase around? Or, here is my kid, chase it. I'm not a big fan of being the centre of attraction so I put myself in some butter and slid into the house. That's where me and my friends were chilling till the party ended.
It was fun all in all. I had too much to eat. That is bad for my fitness life and my health. But my nephew's had fun. I'll try to make my fitness more of a priority. I'll stop eating it all. My mom wants me to eat it all but I won't. I've been trying to make it over 500 words.
