100 DAYS OF STEEM : Day 33 - Tackling Abuse on Steem - Part I - What is Abuse?

Why does there have to be a judge? Each user can use their stake as they see fit. If they see some Korean "crypto analyst' whale self-voting 10 posts per day to over $20 they can use their free downvotes to reduce the rewards. It does not look like anyone cares about that.

I worked with others to find what we considered abuse, but always made my own decision on what to downvote.

Steemit obviously has the power to discourage abuse, but there's a responsibility to use it for the good of the platform and not favour specific groups.

The Hive users are losing influence as they power down. You cannot blame them forever.

Exactly. Of course they listed the abuse by Hive users at the top of their list, even though it's barely existing. They're just so childish, it's unbelievably.

" they can use their free downvotes to reduce the rewards. "

Yes they can do this.
But what is with an retaliate-action ?
I think most others (me including) with not so much Steempower fear that if they do so they will get massive downvotes on all their posts as retaliate-action ... and what is than ?

As long as it's the rule that the Steempower decide about the worth of an vote and everybody can see who gave the downvote their won't be much user who risk this.

OK that's really interesting.
How you done this - you contacted steemit with this issue ?

No, Steemit were not getting involved back then. I built a following and connections with the Steem community. As they seem to want to be the police now they should support users who deal with abuse. You will have to talk to them about it as they have taken against me.
