As the hard fork 20 took place we had lots of complaints and moaning about it and if we're being honest, it wasn't really the biggest success. I still think things will work out, just give it some time. Lots of changes with the new RC system in place plus more stuff made some Steemit users a bit confused - "What, How, Why". You can research more about these changes here.
But the one thing I want to quicly talk about is "The 15 Minute Rule"
This is quite an important factor nowadays, in the few posts I published after the fork I've been getting votes in the first 15 minutes. I think every vote counts especially if you're a struggling minnow but unfortunately votes made in the first 15 minutes after posting actually DON'T COUNT
It goes back into the rewards pool where its redistributed, so please, make your vote more efficient by following "The 15 Minute Rule", no matter how much SP your holding.
I think this 15 minutes rule is for curation reward only.
If you vote at 0 mintes, you get 0% curation reward and author get 100%. If you vote at 7.5 minutes (this was 15 minutes before HF20) you get 50% of 25% curation share and if you vote at 15 minute, you get 100% of 25% curation reward.
Curation reward goes back to reward pool only if author self-vote post in first 15 minutes.
I like HF20 because of new RCs. Many spammers can't spam now. No more "nice post" comments!

Yes, that is correct.
Spam will always find its place on the blockchain, but it's nice to see we are headed in the right direction.
