Hi Everyone!

Now if you read my ramble from yesterday you find that I finally made it to Discord.

These are my thought about going down the rabbit hole.

Discord brings a new dimension to Steemit. It makes connections with other people easier or harder depending on what group you happen to pick.

Time went on, not much, but some and I decided it was time to find a group of my own. I know there are many out there that I don't even know the names of but the ones I kept coming across had rules I couldn't or knew I wouldn't be able to keep.

Being an honest person, to a fault, that left very few groups left to choose from but that was okay as I was not in a hurry so kept looking.

Then one day I was talking to a friend and they asked me why I wasn't in The Alliance. I mumbled something like I have to take my cat for a walk and left the conversation there.

From there the next day or three I found The Alliance Steemit page and read most of their posts. I knew from seeing them around you had to make a post asking to join their group. I went looking for how to do just that after I had read their rules twenty times or more.

It took a bit of digging and asking questions from people I knew were already in The Alliance but I finally found out how to join.

Here I will say, I knew as best I could, at the time, that I would be able to follow their rules. Their rules state to help family members when you can. I'm good at helping. I like to help. Steemit has been so very good to me and for me in being me able to feel useful again in my life. Helping others is all part of that for me.

The first step is to click a link and get sucked down the rabbit hole again. This time you land in a small area and are greeted by a bot and person. You are asked by the bot to please answer three questions in a post and then they will get back to you.

So I did and they did.

I was fortunate enough to skip the 'classroom' and jump right into the 'playground' where I spent a week learning how The Alliance worked. Kind of.

At the same time this all happened I was not feeling very well which means I usually keep mostly to myself. Now I found myself in a room trying to interact with new people and get to know them. Very Lucky for me @c0ff33a has the patience of a Saint along with @saffisara. They both tried very hard to make me feel at home. They even went so far as to laugh at a few of my jokes while talking to myself on the playground. @tattoodjay was not there my first few days but by the end of my journey in the 'classroom', we got to know each other much better and as I have always followed him to peak at his wonderful photos it was great to finally talk a bit with him.

@Carmalain7 was there the same time I was and really tried hard to be very nice to me too. Carmalain7 and I really don't have a lot in common but it didn't matter. We went to read each other's posts and said the best things we could to each other when under normal circumstances we never would have seen each other's posts. Carmalain7 writes the coolest poetry I have ever seen and formats their posts in this really cool flowy way that just keeps you reading. They left the 'playground' before I did.

Now during this time I had had a really, really bad day and sent a private letter off to @enginewitty. What that letter said is private and will remain so but this I will say. That day @enginewitty earned my respect in many, many ways. My respect is not an easy thing to earn so this will tell you how highly I do think of him as a person.

The day finally came and I was sent a link to go down a bigger rabbit hole. WooT! I had made it to the Castle!

What I have found in the Castle has, so far, been wonderful for me. The family feeling to the place is a great environment. I feel I can be myself and am excepted just as I am which for me is everything.

Do I know all there is to know about The Alliance in such a short time? Nope, but I know the most important part.

@Carmalain7 and I still look at each others post. Still, marveling at what the other can do, though again, we don't have much in common but respect now for each other. To me, respect means a lot so I will take that any day of the week.

The Alliance that was founded by @enginewitty is really all about family and respect. They really do try and create the best environment for you to want to be in.

The Family are words that have backing when you are there. I could not ask for more.

I'm so happy I made the choice of The Alliance for a group to call my own.
