The fox and the hen

There was once a fox

well, he was cunning as he could be

He roamed the forest and cheated

all the animals that he came across

The lion, though he was the king

could do nothing to stop the fox

Tiger, the minister

was tongue-tied because the lion kept silent

The mother hen was sure bothered

she had to protect her chicks

she did not wait for the lion to take action

The elephant was her friend

and that gave her courage

she went and asked the elephant

who was also the head of the herd

Now, the elephant was a kind soul

and he loved the hen

He came across the fox

who looked at him with contempt

This made the elephant angry

and he kicked the fox out of the forest

The animals were thankful

but the hen was really grateful
