No matter how many Murder Mysteries I have done or Staged Plays that I have appeared in, there is always one factor that is constant. This constant factor is the pre-show jitters. This happens even though I know the show is going to be good or I am extremely confident in knowing that I am fine with my lines.
Tonight, I am directing a show in which very young actors are performing. I am still feeling the nerves a little bit. I know they are going to be great. Even the youngest of them, who were just toddlers a few years ago, are going to be superb. However, it is my nature to worry up until the final applause.
In my Drama Club, I teach the young actors on how to deal with their own nerves and anxiety. It is much easier said than done. Nonetheless, it is almost time for me to head over to the church and make the final touches to the stage. We have a packed house tonight, so the energy is going to be there. I wish my young actors the best and pray for their continued success.
