Pressure

If you haven't been following the rap game for awhile then you might not know that the man you originally knew as Young Jeezy simply goes be Jeezy right now. I consider one of the greats for sure and he steady stays consistent. You know exactly what you're getting when you go into a Jeezy album and I'll never stop listening to the man. I have to appreciate his clever artwork of the simple diamond since diamonds are made from pressure if I recall correctly. Let's get to the songs you should be listening.

Cold Summer

In my mind Jeezy goes over two beat types really well. Some of the beats are slower and some go really fast and just make you want to slam the pedal if you're driving. This song is fitting with the latter. My only complaint is that this song has a pretty bland chorus, but the song chooses to shine in the verses instead. I can't believe I took this long to also mention that Tee Grizzley is featured on this song too! Although I love Grizzley, this isn't one of his best verses. The mixing on his voice sounds a bit weird, but can't complain about the opportunity of having these two guys on a song together.

Pressure

Obviously have to put the title track in my tracks to check out, right? Well I wouldn't put it in my write up if I didn't think it was worth checking out. This song is the opposite of what Cold Summer's beat is like - this is one of those much slower paced Jeezy beats where his voice just flows over so nicely. Another great part of this song is that we get some solid Kodak Black and YG features too. I'm kind of biased toward YG anyway, but the mix of west coast with this classic southern song makes for a really nice blend. Kodak does his usual thing too and his fans will be happy with his verse on this joint.

American Dream

I think this has to be one of the most talked about songs on the album since it features both J Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Even if you haven't heard any other part of this album there is a good chance you've heard this song at least. Honestly I don't think its too special, but I felt that it is still worth checking out since its the most popular song on the album. Jeezy's lyricism shows through on his verse, but I didn't find his part enjoyable besides that. J Cole fans will be really happy with his verse I think, but I'm not the biggest J Cole fan so I may be a bit biased there. Especially once Kendrick goes on I realized that this song is more of a "Kendrick and J Cole" song featuring Jeezy than it is a Jeezy song. Maybe we'll get that collab tape between the two one of these days...

Let me know if there are any rap albums you would like me to go over in particular! There is a good chance I've heard it already too and can write about it :).

I think it was a solid album for jeezy esp since his last few project my fav since seen it all and Kendrick used the same melody as loyalty 😒😒😒

The last Jeezy project I listened to a ton was Seen it All. Church in These Streets didn't hold my attention long.

Damn you're definitely right about Kendrick being the same as on Loyalty..
