The Ethereum Address you used is the DAO address.

Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com/#the-dao and import your wallet.

  1. If you're a user on Poloniex or Kraken send the DAO tokens there through myetherwallet (you have to find your DAO address in the relevant exchanges page first).

  2. Sell DAO for BTC

  3. Buy Steem :)

That's about it.

it was an experiment and people should have invested what they were willing to loose.

Check bittrex wallet. You could have bought it there, because they also offered DAOS during ICO.

ah ha, YES!!! got it. you da man. :-)

With the hardfork, your funds are not in jeopardy. However, investor trust in the DAO is.

Agreed. If the hard-fork goes through, all but negligible amount will be returned to investors. And while it wasn't for the right reasons (DAO1 was about investing in other ventures!), there are people that will have bought DAO tokens (on the cheap) as people bailed under/after hack, who will make a good return on that investment - once hard fork restores funds.

Try Shapeshifting.

How is it a bad investment, when they are going to hard fork to get you a refund of your Ether? It was a great idea and a bad implementation of code, that now has an epic effect on Ethereum as a whole. If you had invested in many Bitcoin projects through the years you could have lost 100% of your investment. They are trying to develop the technology for smart contracts so these kinds of things happen very little, if ever again. It's just not quite there yet. But investing in Steem seems like a great choice, Enjoy and watch the news for the hard fork and how to get your money back.

Well..if you bought DAO tokens through an exchange, then they are in your account on that exchange, you'll need to remember so that you can login and sell the tokens, if anybody is still buying those I have no idea.

Sounds like everybody is dumping the DAO. I almost invested but didnt hop on that train. Had a hunch.

I feel ya bro I haven't figured it out either.. and I bought into the DAO because I had the Jaxx wallet which had Bitcoin, Ethereum, and DAO so I thought it was a good investment smh :/

I'm sorry to read that. I lost over half of my trading stash with The DAO.

How about you ask your friend Jayson who did it?

Use the Bitshares exchange. Ultra fast and decentralized.

On the long term you should choose your investment more wisely. The DAO was brilliant initiative, but the jar of honey was to big. We should consider it a test, because this is the way in which we evolve, by making mistakes. People make mistakes, the DAO was a mistake just because it was to big to be handled decentralized 100%. But from mistakes sometimes good things arise, so.....who knows :))

Regarding the DAO tokens, you can withdraw it in any exchange, as other fellow steemians suggested, or you can wait a little more for the Hard Fork to happen, as the STEEM is quite obvious that will not increase by 100% in value, each day from now on :):
