THE DIARY GAME: 13, August 2020 - APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

What in store for me to share my diary blog for today’s August 13th are the following:

MORNING BREAKFAST

Since I woke up a little bit early than usual, I toasted the half of pizza I bought the other day. Margarita is our favorite ready to eat pizza.

The mushrooms I saw the other day had increased. Maybe the humid weather made them sprout, white and cute like mini umbrellas.

LUNCH MEAL

Our lunch meal is ADOBONG MANOK (chicken marinade with seasonings including laurel spices)

For our veggies side dish, I steamed okra, pumpkin and snow peas. I prepared anchovy sauce for these veggies.

For a healthier sauce, I always used apple cider vinegar since it has the properties of helping lowering blood sugar, weight loss, cholesterol and improving symptoms of diabetes.

What is ACV (APPLE CIDER VINEGAR)?
It is mostly an apple juice and by adding yeast it turns sugar into alcohol which is the process of fermentation, the bacteria turns alcohol into acetic acid that gives the vinegar a strong smell and sour taste.

What are the properties of ACV?

  • anti microbial
  • anti oxidant

What are the nutritional composition?

  • magnesium
  • iron
  • phosphorus
  • manganese
  • amino acids
  • anti oxidants
  • with 3 calories per spoon

What are the health benefits?

  • used as remedy for centuries like treating wounds
  • it can be used for loosing weight, improve heart health and treat dandruff
  • studies about acetic acid might help fight obesity, improved blood sugar and insulin levels.
  • with chemicals Known as polyphenols it can help stop cell damage that can lead to cancer diseases.

The anchovy sauce mixed with apple cider vinegar. So good to dipped steamed vegetables before eating, the taste was really good.

DESSERT MADE OF BANANA

This dessert made of banana, we called it, “Maruya (Banana Fritters) with Peanut Butter.” This dessert I made was my own version for adding peanut chunky butter to make it more delicious.

The ingredients are the following:

  • 2 pieces of banana
  • 1 cup of hot cake mix
  • 2 spoonful of sugar
  • 2 spoonful of peanut butter chunky
  • 1 egg

How to prepare?
Peel the bananas and smashed. Mix all the remaining ingredients and blend. Fry in a medium heat then serve.
