I disagree. Vinod Kambli has only played 17 tests with batting average 54.2, whereas Sachin Tendulkar has played 200 tests with batting average 53.78.

You can not judge that way unless both of the players played par number of matches. In a long stretch of career, there could be many ups and downs and that is visible whereas in a short stretch that goes unnoticeable.
