"No, please no."

You plead, expecting some torture.

"Then go, you...human." The creature seethes, putting all that is vile into a hiss.

You quickly get to your feet and stumble blindly into the forest. Panicked, you lose track of which direction you're facing. You bump into a tree covered in those thorns. It pierces your skin, and you feel the wetness of blood on your arm. You tear yourself away. Now bloody and weak, you collapse to the forest floor. Pain courses through your body and you writhe. Your writhing causes you to become half-buried in leaves. As the most intense of the initial pain subsides into a duller, more tolerable pain, you begin to feel very drowsy.
