Atheists Don't Believe There Is No God

It's a very common assumption among theists that atheists "believe there is no God." To lack belief is not part of the pre-conceived possibilities. Instead, it's the belief that there is no creator.

There are some atheists who do say this and actively believe there is no creator. Richard Dawkins is such an example. (And toss is ignoring, too,that he also means the specific Gods, buy neglected to say this. Look at his literature, and you'll see that, predominantly, he talks about the Judaeo-Christian God.)

Likewise, if you're going to get specific about what deity you refer to, such as the Judaeo-Christian God, then many atheists would be fine with saying, "I believe there is no Judaeo-Christian God." However, that "belief" is based on clear and consistent contradictions in the bible and morality of that specific God, rather than being a fundamental set of beliefs.
(This also applies to all religions.)

It is likewise true that many atheists hold a belief in the scientific method; the fundamental belief in that regard is that the universe can be learnt about via experimentation; that the world is consistent. This could certainly be called a faith, but it would be the literal definition of a reasonable faith. To conflate this with the many specific and ridiculous assumptions and necessities of the Judaeo-Christian faith, is a straw man of comparison in the extreme. Thus, the only clout Christians have is when an atheist extols upon and with scientism, the belief that only the material world of the 5 senses exists.

Aside from that, it is the ironic projection that "You're just as bad as we are, so STFU" which posits belief and faith as a fundamentally bad thing, which was the atheists' point in the first place.

So, please be specific in what you're talking about, or you're just looking to ruffle feathers and project because you're angry with your cognitive dissonance and don't want to take the responsibility of being consistent in your own head.
