This is a weekly feature of some of the work @themesopotamians project has supported on Steem through the @m-sargon account. The Mesopotamians provides ongoing support to certain selected users in hopes of building a cooperative and growing middle class on Steem.
@veryspider is working on an illustrated children's book and made a very extensive post about it, including character design, setting design, and a big chunk of the story. Definitely looking forward to seeing this when it's complete.
@warpedpoetic brought us some thoughts on what writing for Steemit means amidst the current drop in prices and the summer slowdown. I don't think the drop in interaction he's seeing is actually about his writing quality, it's more about economic cycles, and seasonal cycles for those of us way up north.
Speaking of way up north, @bashadow has been posting some photos from Alaska. I've been semi-obsessed with visiting Kenai someday ever since seeing the Sunrise: Earth episode ten years ago or so, and this is just making me crave it more. One of these next few summers.
@bitfiend is also in the north, but his post is about investing even when you don't necessarily have a lot of extra money to do it with. He's buying small amounts of silver and cryptos, but his general point is a good one: moving some amount of money into the future stands to make you more powerful than spending it all now, if you can manage it.
Our newest member @corpsvalues is continuing his amazing series on his artistic journey, this time talking about how he got started figure drawing. I love it when artists write about what art has meant to their life. So many of us are either not good at that part of things or resistant to opening up that level of personal detail. These posts are super-impressive.
@minismallholding wrote about hardship and motivation, especially from a parenting context. Motivation has always been one of my biggest personal struggles, so I'm always interested in other people's experiences. (Not to mention that I'm spending so much of my time on Steem trying to engineer ways to motivate other people.)
Good work everyone! Keep it up!
We have a Discord now, any members who haven't gotten an invite from me yet should message me at tcpolymath#2171 if you want one. It's not required but we are talking amongst ourselves and collaborating a bit there, I think it's going to be very valuable. Thanks to Elsie for poking me into setting it up.
everyone's making amazing stuff * ___ * thank you for the curation, tc <3
