The Play House is canceled... again. No show FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2019.
The Why(s)
- Time. I need more of it.
- Money. Need more of that, too.
Really, those are the biggies. I'm sure I'm no different than all of you. We all have our own trials and tribulations... and rent to pay... and balls to juggle. 😏
Specifically, I've been needing to work IRL to cover bills and foods. Winter is always a bit harder 'round these parts, if only for the dramatically increased heating bills.
I'm also doing a lot on the blockchain right now; some which pays, some which kinda pays, and some just because I believe in this little ol' place called Steemland.😍
- I'm a member of the Steem Monsters Team and currently working on (it's SO close) the yuge Campaign Guide book with all you'll ever need to know (to create more stories) about the Splinterlands. It's pretty exciting, being so close. I can almost taste it. As we are getting down to crunchy time, I'd like to be able to allot all my extra time to this project.
- I'm one of the Team Members for the @helpie Witness. This is simply my favorite place to play. I love the people there and those I work closely with. For the most part, I help with posting, community and keeping everybody in line. Actually, I have started a new weekly contest (it's really more of a challenge...) called WACKY WEDNESDAY!. Anyone can enter for the chance to win a STEEM MONSTER BOOSTER PACK. The challenges are easy peasy. This week it's 😍An Oooshy Goooshy Poetry Contest! 😍. Go write me a poem! (And make sure you follow all directions. 😎)
- I recently joined @promo-mentors too! Most of these folks are located on the other side of the world from me, so it's opening me up to a whole new group of amazing individuals! We run the STEEM CHALLENGE, which is used to promote the STEEM blockchain outside of our ecosystem. We are at the VERY end of our current challenge. But please do go watch me in this AMAZING video I did to explain it... It's amazing. I'll know if you don't watch. Carrie's Amazing STEEM CHALLENGE VIDEO POST.
- I host a live interactive entertainment show on mspwaves.com and in the PAL Discord server every SUNDAY 2PM EST/11PM UTC. I play music from whatever decade I'm feeling and I talk about stuff...and games. I play those too. It's a hoot. 🦉
- I'm planning a STEEM meetup (THE BLOCK PARTY) in Colorado Springs this June. This is a huge stress, as I'm pretty much out of time to make it work, but haven't given up. I plan to finalize a place this weekend and run around looking for sponsors to secure the venue. I'm good at this stuff. I do it. It's just... the time... I have so little! Pray for me. 🙏
- And I'm a member of several other communities (that I could be more active in).
- I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Don't take it personally, there's a lot going on in muh brainhole lately.
Overall, I simply can't spend the time on the PLAY HOUSE that is needed to bring you all the laughs and fun times you expect. At least not right now.
Originally, over a year ago when we started, we hoped we get more folks helping produce content (write scripts and such), but that never really took off. Which is totally fine, we just need to find a better way to sustain the fun... without killing ourselves. 😉
For those of you I've already given scripts to and asked to record voice parts, do it. No rush, though. 🙂 I have EVERY intention to getting back to this. It is extremely fun and entertaining for me... until it becomes work. ... And we were getting into that area.
What's Next?
Well, I could win the lottery, crypto could moon or I could come into a sudden large amount money that would allow me to do all the fun things... rather than the 'work for money to eat' things.
If that doesn't happen super fast- no fear!

Really, I blame you. You overslept ONE TIME...and everything went to shit.

I'm really sorry I haven't been around lately, I've some new obligations that have me backed up pretty good, but once I get my time management a bit better, you can expect to see me more!
Times are tough for many of us right now, and we have to do what we have to do to survive. I totally understand this type of stress, and please don't beat yourself up for cancelling the show. Life happens, and it's damn tough sometimes.

After writing that (short) list of what I'm doing, it actually made more sense to ME. LOL! I often (like many) don't give myself enough breaks and at the same time, take too many. It's a weird dance that all of us practice, but very few master.
I kinda knew that February was gonna be 'harder', but tend to 'cross that bridge' when I get there.
I have all the faith in crypto and STEEM, it's just a matter of holding on in the mean time.
I'm hoping to figure out a way to get this going again AND get some new folks to come play. Cause, you know, it's a damned good time when we are all there. 😍

I hear you, I have all the faith in the world for Steem, and sometimes I feel like a grampa quizzically watching the grandkids fight over spilled milk. I'm sure the issues of the past will correct themselves, and the community will move forward, no problem.. and Steem will be ok.

I'm definitely in a working-my-butt-off-to-make-ends-meet kinda spot at the moment too. Dtube contests and vlog are about all I can handle on top of work. But I miss you guys and apologize for being flaky for the last...oh jeez...couple months? 😄 Hopefully time will free up again at some point. I would LOVE to come to the meet up if it happens! However, I am feeling the stress as ALL venues I've approached have been a bit bitchy about how 'last minute' this is... All the while other folks are all, "Oh, it's not until June? You've got plenty of time."
It's almost as if those people have never planned a larger event. 😏
So, I'm still hopeful. Really, anything IS possible if you have all the monies... and therein lies my problem. Less money means I gotta be more creative, but still fair to everyone.
My hope is that the event is smaller this year... but a SUPER AMAZING SUCCESS, then I start planning for next year right then. 😘
And dude. YOU HAVE TO COME. Duh.

Nice, well spring is already starting in the South. We have wild Daffodils coming up all over the place. And my peach tree flowered, too soon.. So the flowers are at risk for being lost from 32F or lower mornings.

Nice, ive been seeing solar farms popup in the South as well. Saw some on my trip to Lake Chatuge, was nice to see people investing in large solar projects. I hope to be off the grid in one of my future homes.
An idea of mining and an indoor grow op you should be nice and warm, and have a nice cash flow hopefully. Especially if kept one room cold, then you could get some purple.
Though it would not realistic as would be very costly to start. All those panels, batteries, controllers and grow stuff would cost a fortune.
