Facebook was not about gaining it was about caring and sharing

Maybe it's my age or because my 93 year old father passed a few days ago but something feels amiss when I share my honesty and gifts on steemit. Have we become a society that focuses on the rewards and the end result? I prefer focusing on the process of life but that can become an intense way to live in a materialistic, competitive society. In the "free market" we meet all kinds of people with different agendas, values and purpose. When I focus on numbers it seems to take the steam out of my natural energy flow so I live spontaneously in the moment and follow rivers more than I do people but I have been an avid reader here. My personal wisdom is that our audience finds us and my focus continues to be more on the means than the end. I don't think energy ever ends; it merely gets blocked and unevenly distributed by forces within and beyond our control. There may be short cuts to success and some people will sell you the secret but at the end of the day or the end of your life, love is all that you take with you. Bringing more real heART into this "business-y" cyber portal is a tough gig but I am grateful for those who have one here. Your heART is the reason I stay not the chump change.

Agreed, but the numbers were always beneath the surface of Facebook. Above and below your posts are "like" meters and paid advertisements. On Facebook you just never got paid for your posts. Facebook got paid for your posts.

Yeah I hear you @pinko. :) I just like to remind myself that life is a priceless gift but the world has a price tag on each of us.

Hi @Sacka. The beauty of human experience is that we all have different ways of being. Others are just focused on making money and that is when intentions get mired. It's Ok to give something and to enjoy the rewards. There is nothing wrong with giving and receiving. Nature itself works with the principle of reciprocity. If energy is always outflowing and there is no inflow then we will soon have nothing more to give. Giving and receiving is Yin and Yang. It compliments each other. It replenishes each other. facebook to you is sharing and caring but maybe not so much for the CEO. He has become a Billionaire with all the information we have shared through his platform. We don't get to share any of his billions but he uses his FB to make more money off of us. He sells our data to corporations so they can market to us. Meanwhile Steemit rewards its authors and curators without having to sell us to the Big Giants. Isn't that great especially for people who are doing it to help them escape the rat race, be financially free so they don't have to deal with stressful jobs or whatever the reeason may be? I recently wrote an article teaching how to make more money on Steemit because I know it's helpful for those who just got started. I personally write things that I love to talk about. I wrote several poems from a sincerely inspired state of consciousness. I was aware that I will be rewarded for writing but it's not the source of my motivation. True art is never inspired by monetary value. We do it because we are inspired to create. I did get a few cents for that original poem but my reward really was the creation itself. Yes, I would be happy if I had received more upvotes but that's just because It would mean more people had seen and appreciated it. Monetary reward is just a bonus for many authors here. We are not here JUST to make money. We are here primarily to add value to the community. Money is just energy. It's neither good nor bad. It's our own judgement that makes it what it is. Money is also a tool. We use it to buy food and pay other people for their labor. I appreciate Steemit for what it is because all the blockchain technology, including Bitcoin will change our society for the better. The 1% controls 99% of the population. We are changing that by using and developing blockchain platforms such as Steemit and cryptocurrencies so we can all thrive and break free from central controls. This is all part of a bigger picture. This is not JUST making money.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I hope you have a day full of wonders!

PS: You may want to read one of my POEMS since you mentioned facebook :) I wrote it about a month ago and it's funny that we are talking about this now. :D
Cheers!

I have no issue with money or making money but I have little tolerance for rudeness and negative attitudes and people who are shady. I was wondering if the mute button will keep someone from commenting on my wall? I'm extremely sensitive and don't want people who don't practice reciprocity in one form or another.

And I agree with much of what you wrote but no matter what monetary system we have there will always be a few who will corrupt and monopolize it. Maybe I have grown cynical or maybe I don't understand blockchain yet and I am having a hard time understanding the concept of decentralization.

I hear you. Just let it go.

I am sorry for your loss. It is beautiful to reach over the globe and find a connection.

Thank you, @onetree !! I'm honored to be connected to you and your dad. Your presence and heart felt expressions are much appreciated.

Namaste

Love what you've said here... you nailed it! It's about connection and the human experience <3

((((((( <3 ))))))) empathic souls have a sense for real heart connections. We are awake and aware and know when somebody is full of BS. :P It is about connection but when I'm a little off balance I lose my tolerance for the "head trippers and players" and boy they are everywhere we go. After all these years I'm still learning how to mute those vampires energetically. Thank you, @tinajordan your poetry is a saving grace.

Change has nocked on your door in a very painful way... Sorry to hear that. I believe the only thing we can always and truly control in this experience - is our reactions. What others do, well, they will have to worry about that themselves. Do not get caught up in harmful energy of others, friend. There are ways to strengthen our frontier. When I feel overwhelmed by the energies around, CBD can do wonders for me. Also simple things like using castor oil topically. It's like an extra skin protecting me :) Keep your heart open, Sacka, soon things will change again!

Totally agree and will do!! (((((((((((((( <3 ))))))))))))))))
