Birth
Ravana was born in the city of Kishkindha, located in the southern part of India. According to Hindu mythology, Ravana was born to King Vishrava and Queen Kaikeyi. Ravana's mother was the Rakshasi queen Kaikeyi. She wanted her son to rule over the kingdom of Lanka. In order to do this, she asked her husband to give her a boon. Her wish was granted and she got the right to choose any man she wanted as her next husband. When Vishrava heard about this, he decided to test Kaikeyi's character by asking her to choose between him and his brother Brihaspati. Kaikeyi chose Vishrava because he was the only one who could protect her from the demons. After Vishrava died, Kaikeyi married Brihaspati. However, she soon realized that he was not strong enough to defeat the demon king Ravana. So, she sent her younger sister Shurpanakha to kill him. Shurpanakha succeeded in killing Ravana, but she also killed her own children. Later, Kaikeyi gave birth to another son named Vibhishan.
Boon of Ravana
Ravana and his brother Kumbhakarna performed penance on Mount Gokarna for eleven thousand years and won boons. Ravana was granted a boon that made him invincible to all the creation of Brahma, except human beings. He also gained weapons, a chariot, and the ability to change into any shape he desired. Ravana then usurped the throne of Lanka from his half-sibling Kubera and became king of Lanka. He appointed Suryakshatra as his priest and learned politics from him.
Devotee of Shiva
One of the most famous Hindu deities, Shiva is often depicted as having three eyes, one on each side of his face and one above his forehead. His third eye is said to be the source of knowledge, wisdom, and intuition. In addition to his trinity of eyes, Shiva is also known for his third eye brows, which he raises up during meditation. Shiva is associated with destruction, regeneration, and transformation. He is the destroyer of evil, the creator of life, and the sustainer of the universe. He is also regarded as the lord of yoga, the god of love, music, dance, and art.
Family
Ravana's parents, Vishrava and Kaikeyi, were both sages. They were the children of Pulastya and Sumali. Vishrava was the eldest son of Pulastya and Kaikeyi was the youngest child of Sumali. Kaikeyi had ten brothers, the famed generals in Lanka's army, namely Dhumraksha, Prahastha, and Akampana, and also Maricha and Subahu, which would effectively make them his uncles. Kaikeyi's father, Sumali was instrumental in making Ravanna the king of Lanka by suggesting to him to obtain boons from Brahma. Ravana had seven brothers, including Kubera, the guardian of heavenly wealth. Ravana's mother,

Priestly ministers
Ravana is said to have had Shukra, the priest of the demons, as his minister. In one of the most popular versions, Ravana ordered his court priest Brahma to read the Chandi Stava (mantras) to him, so that he could recite them to avert defeat if he could recite them. According to the Krtitvastu text, Ravana arranged a peaceful Yagna (sacrifice) and invited Brahma to begin the recitation of the Chandi Stava. Brahma recited the same correctly according to the Krtitavastu text.
Ravan death
Shri Ram easily defeated Ravan by his arrow. In the Ramcharitmanas this arrow is known as Ram Ban but in Valmiki Ramayana Ram Ban doesn't exist.Ram Charit Manas also mentioned that Ravan had Amrit in his Nabhi whereas this story is Not mentioned in Valmiki Ramayan.May be there was a Kalpa Bhed between RamCharitManas and Valmiki Ramayan that's why Stories contradict. In the Valmiki Ramayan Shri Ram defeated Ravan three times
