A Cliffhanger For TWD

Lately, it seems that a series just returns from a hiatus and it is already time for a mid-season finale. Obviously, I am referring to The Walking Dead. When I started watching TWD, I had plenty of friends and family to compare zombie apocalypse notes with. Here I am watching Season 10 and many of my fellow watchers have stopped following the show. I understand they survived The Governor and Negan, but I feel that The Whisperers can be even more dangerous. However, there is not many left in my circle to compare notes with.

This season we know that King Ezekiel is getting ready to battle cancer. Saddiq found a spy within Alexandria and paid with his life. Dante, who turned out to be the spy, killed Saddiq because he recognized him as someone who was torturing him while wearing a Whisperer mask. Father Gabriel took the news hard and decided to become judge and jury, killing Dante in his cell.

Carol has always been a loose cannon. The happy homemaker version of Carol in past seasons never convinced me that she had gone soft, no matter how many cookies she baked. Rick even banished her from the group at one point. Her obsession with Alpha is leading her down a bad road, which leads me to this mid-season's cliffhanger. Chasing Carol led Daryl and a small group into a cave where they are trapped by a horde of zombies. This obviously was Alpha's plan when she appeared in front of Carol.

There are many questions that this half of the season leaves us with. Are there any other spies among the group at Alexandria or Hilltop? Did Gamma reveal the actual location of the Whisperers' camp to Aaron? Where has Maggie been all this time? Is Negan really planning on becoming a Whisperer? I know that you can refer to the graphic novels for some answers but the story doesn't always follow the books. Hopefully, my fellow ex-Walking Dead watchers will come back into the fold and we can enjoy what happens next together.
