Meet the Blockheads #5:

The next victim to be tied to the interview stake over at The Writers' Block is a very special guy. He’s a witness. He’s a veteran. He’s a law student. He’s a kickass writer whose mellow voice has us all tuning into State of the Witness every Friday. He also draws a mean Moana when his daughter commands him to and I bet he secretly even joins her tea parties.

He’s funny as hell and an all around nice guy and we wish his studies left him more time to hang out with us.

Of course I’m talking about @anarcho-andrei!

Here is your chance to ask him all those burning questions. By all means, don’t hold back. ;-)

What do you do, when you've just done what you've been doing?

I do the other thing that I’ve been meaning to do but haven’t done yet.

So, about that mellow voice I keep hearing about, but have yet to actually hear: When’s the next Fictioneers show (another thing I keep hearing about, but haven’t yet heard)?

That’s a bit of a tougher question. I still need to record a new intro, and then we have to get the gang together for the show. With how busy everyone has been between the Block and Steemhouse Publishing, it’s been rough for everyone. I promise we will do another episode again!

What made you become a Steemit Witness?

I took a break at the beginning of 2016 to finish my novel. When I came back, I wanted to do more than just be a content creator or curator. The thought of being a witness meant being someone trusted in the Steemit community, and I’ve always wanted to represent this amazing place to the rest of the world.

Why are you blamed?

Shane’s not around when that happens.

What are your favorite hobbies that don’t involve Steem, witnessing, or TWB?

When I’m not studying law or taking care of my daughter, I like to do text-based roleplaying with my girlfriend. It’s something I’ve been involved in since I was a teen, and it’s part of why I have the expertise with the written word that I do. Plus it’s a great way to model characters and scenarios!

The grand oracle has called for your execution (I know, it sucks, right?) To survive you must make a case for the superiority of either the baseball bat or the cricket bat. Begin!

The baseball bat is the superior striking weapon. In terms of physical construction, a disk will always have greater tensile strength and durability compared to a rectangle. It’s also better able to absorb and dissipate shock. The fact that baseball bats are constructed in the form of a cylinder with a tapered end makes it structurally superior and more durable than a cricket bat. The fact that the neck of a baseball bat is thinner than the body is irrelevant, as the same structural weakness is found in a cricket bat.

What does it take to make you cry?

Tears of sadness? Losing the people I love. Tears of joy? When my daughter says, “I love you, Daddy.”

You are skipping daintily down the yellow brick road armed with only a wooden tennis racket. How many flying monkeys can you bag?

You decide to become a travelling bard. Ukelele or lute?

Ukelele. I’m more of a Spike Spiegel kind of travelling bard.

How many full size marshmallows can you fit into your mouth at one time?

Last I tried, six.

Who was your childhood hero? Are they still?

Han Solo. I used to really like him because he was just an all-around badass. The older I get, though, the more I appreciate his character as being the archtypical anti-hero. A smuggler with a heart of gold.

What made you decide to become a lawyer?

I’ve always been fascinated with legal ethics, and I’ve become fairly good at logical argumentation over the years. It was the perfect fit. I just had to wade through an ocean of hard times to figure it out and get here.

What can you do with a drunken sailor?

Put him in the bed with the captain’s daughter.

Who’s your favorite editor on The Writers’ Block? (Ha! Don’t answer that. Feelings will be hurt and heads will roll.)

What’s your favorite thing about being a witness?

The awesome community of other witnesses that are always willing to help. Seriously, there are some incredible people who’ve taken responsibility for the blockchain onto themselves.

Do you have any predictions about the future of Steemit -- 1 year, 5 years, 10 years down the road?

A year from now, I think we’re going to see an explosion in growth. Five years, I suspect we’re going to see a real stabilization of the price of Steem at prices higher than even now. If this project is still going in ten years, I think it’s going to be an established community on an even larger scale then we have now. I don’t know about being the size of Reddit, but we’ll have millions of users. I’m honestly excited.

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

My manly jawline.

How did you end up where you are today with your girlfriend somewhere completely different?

Ha! The question should be “how’d you start off with your girlfriend somewhere different.” I met her online and didn’t realize she lived in the Great White North until after I got to know her.

What is your favorite thing to do with your daughter?

That’s a tough question, but I think eating milk and cereal together on the couch is my absolute favorite thing.

OK @anarcho-andrei, great job here. Thank you so much for indulging our curiosity. Now, all we need is that smooth voice of yours. ;-)
