Goodbye Cruel World

Oh my god, they’re taking out the trash with a big truck! I’ve never had such a big one before. (If you don’t know where that comes from, please go watch Allo Allo). And everyone’s running away from this monstrosity. How come it works on a Sunday? Maybe there’s been an emergency and they need to use it right now. Very stupid Zoki! Very stupid indeed! Ok, now it’s going away. And the girl waitress woman is being kind to me because her boss told her to be nice to everyone, and now she’s trying not to look fake when in fact she’s just doing her job to earn money, not to be kind. It’s not her LIFE PURPOSE to be a waitress, that much is obvious. Then why is she doing it? Because she has no other way of living life? Who would know what’s going through her little greying head now. Well, thinking about one’s life purpose can be a difficult endeavor. It makes you face your fears and you need to be ready to face them. If you aren’t, then you stay in denial for far too long. Maybe until your death. Maybe you realise only in the last second that it was unnecessary to be afraid all this time. After all, now you’re about to leave this world, so you’ve made it this far. This is it. But what about before? Could I’ve done some things I thought were too scary and gotten away with it? Would I have come up to this point had I told everybody exactly what I think and how I feel? Would I have died earlier? Would I have experienced more pain? What about pleasure? Would I have lived longer than this, perhaps? Would the last taste of life on my tongue be sweeter than it is now? Or maybe it would feel quite sour…? Nobody can tell. But what’s been done has been done, and there’s nothing else for me to do now but to exhale my last breath and say goodbye. Well, thinking about that moment does make you realise one thing: IT DOESN’T MATTER. AT ALL. Nothing you do matters, because in the end you die. You might as well leave some people with one more smile in their lives before you leave. You certainly can’t do it afterwards. Not THAT kind of smile.

These writings are a selection of writing exercises that I began doing to practice my writing and typing skills. Basically, I set a timer to 10 minutes and just type away without self-judgement and without editing. Thus, these writings may contain wacky or inexplicable bits, as well as poor paragraph division. Don't worry about those things - just follow my train of thought. I only publish the writings that end up containing an interesting realisation or a strong point concerning life. You can find more at the OOmpah radar blog. Enjoy!
