For many this is a problem,

Vielen macht dieses zu schaffen,

Statt im Wohlstand zu leben und nach spirituellen Wegen zu streben,
Kämpfen diese um ihr Überleben.

Manch einer kennt solch Elendsleben
Noch vom Krieg und sah all das Sterben.
Hat uns vielleicht einer geholfen oder was gegeben?
Den Pfennig viermal mussten wir umdrehen.

Gern gäben mache auch eine milde Spende
Jemanden, der es braucht in Not,
doch sind gebunden sogar solch hilfreiche Hände,
da diese selbst vom Mangel werden bedroht.

Außerdem, wer kann es wirklich wissen,
was mit dem lieben Geld wirklich geschieht,
und ob wer der nicht ist schlau und gerissen,
Wegen Machtgier uns den Penny aus der Tasche zieht?

Zur Auswahl hat man viele Argumente,
mit denen man Geiz und Gier kaschiert,
Von der Geburt bis zur Rente
bei den meisten doch nur das Geld regiert.
