@galenkp had another thought that made me think a little bit further.
HA! He has lots of thoughts and several of those thoughts cause me to think, but ain't it grand to say things this way, like he only had two thoughts and there really isn't that much thinking going on in my head either?
https://steempeak.com/life/@galenkp/sliced-and-diced
In short, it was something like this:
I don't think I am dead.
And my comment to it:
I don't think, I am dead.
I don't think, I am dead.
I don't think I am, dead.
I don't. Think I am dead.
I don't think I am. Dead.
I don't think. I am dead.So it's a matter of perspective and religious beliefs if deadness and thinking are something that are tied together. If someone isn't thinking, does that automatically mean that they are dead, and can ones mind wander on it's own without the physical body?
So who knows. Dead people might think more than us who are living. Because they no longer have the problem: "If I only had more time". Dead people have all the time in their hands. Even without actual hands, they have infinite time.
And then I'll go a bit further with this:
Have you seen any zombie movies or zombie TV-series lately? The ones I've seen, seem to have the same theme in it: Zombies don't think that much. Some don't think at all and in some series or movies it was never explained if the zombies think and if they do, what. (brainz)
Z Nation revealed that a bit, the things that zombies think, (basic, simple stuff) but as The Asylum has again done a damn awful job, I had to stop watching Z Nation somewhere along the second season. I thought that I could manage to watch more, but couldn't for several reasons. I really, really, really like series that have actors that can act! And a script that knows when to move on. I almost killed myself in the carbon monoxide poisoning episode. And during the dream episode. For goodness sake; 5 minutes of those topics would have been enough! Not 40 minutes! The zombie tornado and a mention that it's good it's not a shark tornado, almost was the end for me following the series, but as Netflix just continues to the next episode, I must have slept for few episodes until I managed to stop the player and save myself.
I really like scripts that are a bit out there. As long as the script stays true to it's own perception of the world. Z Nation was too much. It seemed like the script crew, if there was one, just listed crazy ideas that they always wanted to see and just decided to put those there because: why not?!
A zombie tornado?
Yes! Why the hell not!
A zombie stripper spinning around the pole so that her hand tears off?
Yes or course!
Zombies doing speed and Viagra?
Yes, absolutely!
A baby zombie trying to eat people?
Yes, yes and yes!
So eventually I woke up and stopped Netflix from automatically continuing from one episode to next and to the next and to the next. My brain were a sleep there for a while. But then it rebooted itself and realized that Z Nation = shit.
I have been a Walking dead fan from the beginning of the series. Unfortunately the series has too much talking and not enough action in it. They just have these endless discussions or monologues at the same time as the world is crumpling down. And when there's a little bit of action in it, the supposedly good people tent to do stupid stuff and be incredible morons. So again it's really hard to avoid not killing myself when watching it. Nowadays the series is just another soap opera with zombies. So I'm not that big of a fan anymore. But then again, when it continues, I have to watch it because I have to know what happens and I have to know more about the mysterious helicopter.
By the way, what's the deal with all these cults in Hollywood movies that originally aren't about cults? There was one in Z Nation and tons of cults and cult leaders in The Walking dead. The Governor, Negan, wolves and the weird people with the death masks. "Oh shit, the world is in a near apocalyptic state, let's start a cult because things already aren't bad enough!" I understand if drug lords start controlling the water supplies. That's what they would do. They already have the infrastructure for it. All the gunmen and distributors and stuff. But I do not understand cults. Sure there could be few people shouting that the end of the world is our fault and if we won't immediately start sacrificing our tongues, fingers and toes to Cthulhu, none of us will survive. But what I don't understand are the people who go along saying: "Sure! Take mine first! And then the fingers of my child. Now let's go hunt some more people... oh wait a minute... I no longer have fingers to hold a gun and shoot with it!" Gees! What's wrong with you North Americans? (but not too north) All prone to cultism?
Um... Got lost there for a moment with my thoughts.
Then there's GOT. Game of Thrones has been the best series ever! It was better than any of the LOTR movies. Better than... dare I say it... eating a cheesecake with strawberries and drinking coffee. Better than anything! Except after the Nightking was defeated. The episode after that. The whole series has been about winter coming. The Nightking has been the ultimate undead, and I'm pretty sure he was able to think. And what thoughts he had! More than just the craving for brains. Commanding an army and ruling the whole wide world! But he died and now we only have these despicable humans. It's all the same to me what happens to them now. Someone has a huge crush on their aunt and the aunt wants to kill everyone and rule the seven kingdoms. So a soap opera with one dragon. I kinda wish the Nightking would have won and everyone would now be dead. Deadnerys Targaryen. Jon Doe.
That is lame. In every freaking fairy tail the tramp or the orphan or the outcast actually is the true heir. The rightful king, queen, princes or the prince. Because it wouldn't be okay for a non noble, an ordinary bastard to rule the kingdom. It always has to be blue blooded or else the childrens story doesn't have a happy ending. Such crap I say!
Perhaps there's still hope and the final episode of GOT reveals the truth. They all did die and Nightking won. Now they are only thinking that they are living happily ever after as they actually are roaming the seven kingdoms in Nightkigs army. Just like Matrix. That plot twist would be awesome.
I'm watching Fear the Walking Dead which I think is better than the series which it was a spin-off of. The first season was perhaps a bit slow, but the third season has enough cojones in it. For my taste. Things happen, people die in accidents and without warning. Almost no-one seems to be safe. Thou one thing bothers me. The same thing that bothers me in Walking Dead. How come people still get sneacked up on the walkers as they are really slow on their moves and they constantly make that weird sound. That speaking when eating and snoring at the same time sound. How can people be suddenly attacked by the dead? MythBusters proved that it is possible for one man to kill 100 zombies with an axe if the zombies are slow.
Anyway, Fear the Walking Dead is good.
Black Summer is a spin-off from Z Nation. And it's waymore better than Z Nation. (Everything is!) It doesn't try to be funny. Only thing is that it doesn't seem to start at all. Everyone are just running around and as soon as you think that now the series finally starts, it ends. There's one episode where the camera follows a zombie and the viewer almost finds out what or how much the zombie thinks. But then someone makes the unded actually dead and that's that.
The movies World War Z, Zombieland, Shaun of The Dead, and 28 Days Later did not reveal that much if zombies think anything else than eating and killing, but at least the movies were pretty entertaining.
Fido was a fun movie! I think Fido had thoughts.
Haven't seen Wasting Away. The movie tells things more from the zombie perspective. Perhaps I should watch it. For scientific and educational reasons. To determine do zombies think.
So what did we learn from all this?
Do dead people think?
If you don't think, are you dead?
Can minds wander on their own, without the physical body?
Do you know what my mind did last summer?
How much is dead weight?
Am I dead weight?
As zombies are neither living nor dead, the only thing we can conclude from this is, that this all has nothing to do with those who have died. Completely died. Not living dead but dead dead. So we do not know if the being dead part and thinking are tied together.
We learned nothing.
I wonder how dragons breath fire? Care to explain that to me @blue-dragon?
