I set a target of achieving 4,000 steem by the end of the year. It is just past half the year and I have met the goal. Time for a new one. I think 5,000 might just be possible. 6,000 would be ambitious but not impossible.
Through a combination of purchasing and staking, i've achieved the target. If the price dips further, I'll buy more. Otherwise it is staking, staking, and more staking.
Steem could do with more promotion on Reddit, Instagram, Influencers etc. I think that's something that has gone down since the early days. Like how did you hear about Steemit?
For me, i read about it on the net. I think it was Reddit, can't be sure now. Anyway, these sort of things have certainly died down and if there's something we can learn from Doge, it is that we always have to be promoting.
The community is still small. Heck, there are Facebook groups and Subreddits way bigger than the entire Steemit. Crazy isn't it? The problem is that it can all be a little too comfortable in our little pond over here instead of looking at the big ocean out there.
