‘Oh, the illusion of choice in the modern world - don’t get me started. But don’t you agree that the internet has softened our brains and made us forget that ‘choice’ used to mean something different from selecting options from menus?’…Lynn Truss
We are all born with choices, at least that’s what we have been made to believe, but, do we really have choices or are choices just some form of illusion coined by the laws and principles of earth to keep us under some form of control.
From the age of 18, we are told that we are free to make our own choices, good or bad. We are finally released from our parent’s apron strings, or at least that’s what we think. But are we truly rid of our parents choices or do the choices they made in raising us somehow influence our supposed choices as adults. Are we stuck on their choices and ways of life that it’s so hard to see any option even as adults. Are our minds so stuck on their principles that all we see in life is that thin straight line and not the diversities of life?
This principles and good moral upbringing places us at a point where we think that we make our own choices and totally ignore the fact that these choices might just be a little bit tweaked after the principles we have been so deeply immersed in.
The funniest part of it all is that we believe every choice we make is our choice. Like I just dumped the cup in the sink cause I felt like it. In truth, we never really just feel like doing anything. We only do things based on a dominating idea or thought in our head.
The illusion of choice - makes no difference which choice you make, there is clearly one option that is always out of the question for reasons we may or never truly understand.
Thoughts Provoking... You are my choice! I chosed you simply because I'm a man of my own! I have come to see life as an open road; one long and wide road! Will you walk along that road with me? Your choice beckon! Lol!
