Almost three weeks into my Steem tenure...

• So far, so good for my Last.fm subscription stint. Thanks to Day 1 of the scrobble-cleanup mission today, this Captain's artist odometer is now sitting at 2,270 (down from the 2,304 it reached on Monday); expect that stat to be a bit lower in the next several days. Also, I got treated to another recently introduced feature, Last.month--an in-between of the public Last.week and Last.year--as well as the Mainstream-o-meter and the Neighbours feature. (Speaking of which, my Neighbours pane is empty--thus some off-Adanson scrobbling must suffice this weekend. Ushering the now-U.S.-only Pandora back into my app roster to get it going; seeking out something else if nothing comes of it.)
• As Friday comes to a close, more condolences are in order from me and Adanson--this time, to the 49 who lost their lives in New Zealand's Christchurch mosque shootings. • Speaking of Adanson--for those new to this feed on Steem or just moving over from Google+--I'm referring to the crew of that event facility/nature reserve in the northeastern Commonwealth of Dominica village of Marigot, featured in the backstory of my forthcoming Unspooled series. More to come as the Marigot Notebook reopens here; in the meantime, anticipating a return to AbsoluteWrite as I repitch my proposal of Book 1 to potential betas next week. (Shame I missed a deadline last November for all this; long story.)
• While we're on the subject: Adanson and I have a bundle more new tunes to collect before the next test party at the end of March. You should already know by now where to wait.
• And speaking of others specialising in walking, talking mammals: Adding one @bleuxwolf to my new contact list here. He's got a FurAffinity profile as well, and so have I; I'll remind him on the latter outlet when I get a chance. Anthros on Steem are very few and far between at this writing--which makes both of us special in this regard. With G+ winding down, Facebook having enough troubles as it is, Tumblr ditching adult content, and the like, the tide could soon turn. But then you've got Steemit's "pay to join or wait it out" procedure in full swing...
• Last, but definitely not least: Heading back to a spare, low-capacity Windows 10 laptop (in at least two hours) to restart Veritas, my gift-map project, in earnest. (Streets and roads in Veritas--a fictional Caribbean realm hundreds of miles northeast of Antigua and Barbuda--bear the surnames of the former Plus contacts I am dedicating it to. Veritas itself is named after a certain cartographic connoisseur, first name Vicky, who up and left G+ before I could show it to her. Depending on the quantity, there's a good chance I may expand the gazetteer beyond this scope as I look to Wikipedia's randomiser and elsewhere to fill in the gaps.) If all goes well, expect a brand-new Stage 1 (out of 8) to surface in around a week or less; in the meantime, here's a sneak preview of a now-discarded attempt I trotted out back in January at r/mapmaking (CC0/Kopimi).
