As I wind down during my first night here...

• You'll never believe whom I found a while after I hit the Post button on my intro: Another familiar face from my Google+ contacts! Refollowing Cendrine Marrouat / @cendrinemedia -- with thanks to @anonyvoter and his directory, steemiandir.com -- after I post this. (Cendrine also shares her first name with the St. Lucian relative of Alfred, the boy raccoon you'll meet in my forthcoming Unspooled #1).
• Not only that--I'll download the @partiko app from the Google Play Store to replace the public G+ app, whose service I left for good at five this afternoon. As announced in one of my last Plus posts this morning, all of my Steemit posts after this one will be composed on that (unless difficulties prevent me); after all, the promise of 3,000 free points for newcomers is too dear to pass up, right?
• Tomorrow, for the first time in 30 years, the Oscars are going hostless. No matter the ups and downs and controversies, it's a ritual a film fan like me never misses out on. (In fact, it's pretty much the only awards I ever watch live.) This Steem convert predicts either Roma or Green Book will take home the Best Picture statuette; meanwhile, Ralph Breaks the Internet is a given for Best Animated Feature (but fans are counting on an upset with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse); and it's a close call between Free Solo and RBG for Best Documentary Feature. My commentary, as decided weeks ago on G+, will move right here to Steemit--but no microposting this time around; we're faced with new posting-interval limits here. Come back tomorrow for the highlights reel--provided I manage to get some time off from moving duties.
• Speaking of G+, my JSON Takeout archive came to pass some time ago. Owing to a few grammar checks after the fact, a do-over (with corrections to several of my final posts on there) is in order tomorrow. (Once the WordPress archives start up, I'll let you know.)
• Finally--since first impressions count and I want to keep it up--a random, open-source photo from Flickr (whose 1,000-photo limit for free users takes effect soon).
