How to Add a Heated 220x220 build plate to your Finder

For Video tutorial visit -

Remove the old build plate and set it aside, but keep the 3 leveling screws and wheels nearby. Take your custom cut 220x220 Aluminum square and hold it to the bottom of the Finders build plate mount.
Measure the distance to either side of the plate mount and ensure the distance is equal, and the plate is centered on the mount. A fine tipped sharpie is perfect to mark the three screw holes on the centered steel plate.
Next, take the heated bed and place it on your aluminum plate, taking care to line it up. Mark your four corner holes with the sharpie.
Clamp your plate to a surface and use a metal drill bit for all 7 holes. 3 in the center and 1 at each corner.
You should be ready to place the heated bed/metal plate assembly onto the original finder bed mount, and put the 3 leveling screws into the metal plate the same way you would the original bed.
Now place the heated bed on top of the metal plate, and assemble the leveling kit with the aluminum spacers in place of the four springs. Tighten the wheels up just past snug.
At this point, the power can be plugged into the receptacle at the bottom of the heated bed, and connected to the relevant terminals on the power supply. Connect the AC power cord to the designated terminals as well.
If you have any ambiguity on how to wire the power supply, comment on this post or any of the many electronic enthusiast forums on FB for reference.
Electricity is deadly and simple mistakes in even a project like this can kill you or burn down your home. Consult someone with experience with connecting the power supply to the heated bed.
Plug your AC power supply into your temperature controlled outlet and adjust the temperature to the suggested standard of 70c. Use a laser thermometer to check your bed temperature and adjust as needed.
The temperature controlled outlet comes with a thermostat probe which can be placed on a 120x120 square of plumbers felt and slid in between the heated bed and the steel plate, right in the center.
Finally, you can place the glass plate on top of your heated bed assembly and place your bed clips. Proceed with your normal leveling process using the original 3 Finder screws.
Test it out. 70C or roughly 160F is the suggested temperature for printing on glass, however it is more sensitive to drafts. I would use a contained enclosure to reduce the need to use brims or hairspray to get a good quality print every time.
Here is a list of all the parts needed.
Aluminum spacers are hard to buy in four packs on amazon and I would suggest going to the local hardware store for those.
The metal plate I ordered custom cut 220x220 from:
https://metalscut4u.com/custom-cut-square
They took about 3 weeks to get it to me so keep that in mind.
Everything else is from Amazon. Good luck and feel free to comment with any questions or suggestions to make this better!
