Chapter 1

Today was Yosef Steinberg’s last day on Earth... his last chance to be free... but he didn’t know it!

For him, it was just another day at the Bank...
Business and money as usual, he thought.

But nothing was normal today.

His day did not start as normally as it usually
did in the morning, but he was too busy and
impatient to notice...

It started first... by his car not turning on,
on his way to work.

Now that was very strange... because it was new.
He had bought it last week and now it wasn’t
working!

He opened the hood of the car to peek in,
checking what he could, looking and touching everything.

That’s strange, he thought angrily.
Everything looks ok, so why is it not working?
I don’t understand!

He glared down at his watch. He had only 20
minutes to get to work. He was in line for
promotion, today... So he couldn’t dare afford to be late... not even a second.
He phoned his favorite taxi company, speed
dialing their reliable service.

In mere minutes, he was being whisked away in a speeding... yellow Mercedes weaving in and out of traffic like a professional getaway driver fresh from a bank robbery!

He made it just in time as he opened the door
to the still moving Taxi that was slowing down.

He gave a bigger tip than usual showing the
driver his appreciation for the timely arrival
and entered proudly into the bank with
undeniable confidence...

Two hours later, he strolled cheerfully out of
the bank beaming with a bright smile and
even humming one of his favorite songs.

He was truly satisfied with life. He had gotten
his Promotion!
All his hard work had paid off and he was ready for whatever the world threw at him next...

Sigh... This is really my day!

Or so he thought.

Little did he know that this was just the
beginning of his misery...
