[TIC-80 Games] Boxing

Boxing is a fighting game that's surprisingly not about boxing. It's made by QKBoy.

In Boxing you're thrown into a match with an opponent larger and stronger than yourself. It's reminiscent of the old Street Fighter games with its simple attacks and lack of proper animation. There are only one player character and one opponent and after few fights I think I've seen all what the game has to offer.

Kick him up! Just like a real Boxer!

As you can probably expect from the cover the sport isn't actually Boxing as you can kick, which will violate the rules if it was a proper boxing match. Moves in the game are punches and kicks, up to jump and down to guard. Pressing up/down while attacking presents a variation of the move.

Ouch, Ouch!... Ouch!!

The enemy is stronger than the player character, and I find the game pretty hard at first. Now, I find the game easy to win if you spam kicks just before the opponent attacks, he'd get barraged by you until his special move gauge fills and he retaliates with a powerful attack, one that I think is unavoidable.

Boxing could use some improvements. The game could be more balanced and I think it will be much more interesting if more characters were added, or even if you can switch between these two characters. I also think the time limit should be 90 or 60 seconds instead of 120, because the fight won't last that long.

I never cheat, yeah.

I say it's an amazing prototype of what a full fledged fighting game on TIC-80 could be, but it's not that great on its own even if I had a good time playing it.
