One of the most common and impactful area is forgetting names. You meet someone new and their names disappear after the handshake. Or you walk down a street and someone calls your name, you recognize his face but you can’t remember his name.

The first M stands for Motivation

It is your attention that counts. Listen and talk to the person as if no one existed.
Sometimes you get distracted outside by looking across the the other person’s shoulders. Or you get distracted inside by talking to yourself and waiting to reply.
Be present and seek to understand the other person.
