I used to be an active hiphop fan who kept up with the latest music and new musicians. Even though the sub-genres of crunk and trap have never appealed to me, I at least knew of the rappers and whether they were solo or group acts. I am sometimes forced to listen to trap mostly because it is playing on the radio or I am suffering through somebody else's playlist. As such, I had heard of Migos before and had even listened to a couple of their songs but did not know they were their songs until today. For about a year, the name had been mentioned on radio and by my friends but I had always thought it was a solo rapper and not a group.

Today, while catching up on some of the trending music on YouTube, I ended up watching Bon Appétit by Katy Perry featuring Migos. The dough kneading scene in that video needs special attention and its own post. When it came time for the rap verses, I expected to see a solo rapper but instead saw three. At first I thought it was some visual effect meant to make it seem as if one person was three. My next move was to check if there were any uncredited rappers who performed on the song. Then I googled: Migos.

Today I Learnt the group is composed of three rappers: Quavo, Takeoff and Offset.

I then went searching for their music on YouTube. After sorting their music videos by Most popular, I could only stand the first two music videos with the most views. I disliked T-Shirt the least.

This revelation has shaken me and highlighted the fact that I am getting old and disinterested in popular culture around me. Some of my friends are going to laugh at this confession.
