PARAPHRASING OR COPY PASTING?steemCreated with Sketch.

Paraphrase retells another writer's thought using the words we originally owned and how we construct our sentences. The knowledge to restate the paragraph is a basic gift to understand how to prepare another challenge to write the task in our workplace. In a situation where a person composes text in his term paper and research paper, both are his duty as a student. This is an example. These writing projects happen in every course including theses. A before-mentioned example is when we write research papers, the thoughts of the authors should be applied on our composition to know the topic we will be writing. Despite, we cannot repeat verbatim on our article relevant thoughts from the sources even though we quote the reference! Or else, it will appear that we steal the author's texts or plagiarizing!

Compare the unique writing from the choices below. Next, see the actual revision in the reworded paraphrasing:

Simple Ways To Paraphrase

  1. Take down the main idea of the of the paragraph, ignore the unimportant thoughts.
  2. Don't worry if you omitted some thoughts because the point you can remember is its main idea.
  3. Do not copy the words written by the author and sentences structure but find your own words and sentence structure that fit the idea.

How to Deal with Unfamiliar Words

Another issue when paraphrasing is dealing the unfamiliar words. Unfamiliar words can sometimes make the understanding more complicated when we read. Below is the tip to learn a challenging text, then we can paraphrase easily.

  1. Read the sentence aloud and understand the phrase before and after the word to give you an idea.
  2. Get a dictionary if the context remains difficult for you.
  3. Certainly, the dictionary provides words that don't suit the sentence. Select the most suitable word for the context.

It is inevitable that bloggers and writers can encounter a writer's block sometimes. Honestly, I just edit or paraphrase my post-deleted materials to avoid infringement. Today as I chatted with my Steemian friends, our topic was plagiarism. One asked if she could just edit her contents she wrote already from the other companies but deleted, then our respective mentor advised to edit the whole content for her safety instead of just copy pasting. It is very risky that can ruin a writer's name. Those that published their blogs to the other writing companies but deleted later, do not copy paste but familiarize paraphrasing. I hope this article helps you!

It all depends in context. Paraphrasing may get you off the hook when it comes to plagiarism most of the time, but it's not always the case. For instance, if a given idea is widely popular, paraphrasing might be enough. But it won't hurt to cite the original or significant source.

There are ideas, data, and/or facts that are quite uncommon or even rare, so one should cite the source on top of paraphrasing when writing such content based on them. An excellent example of this is research results.

The basic is rule is, if you got an idea or a concept from someone or somewhere, you should mention them as your source.

Whenever I make an article of the same topic I always rephrase the whole thing to make it different but same thought

Very true. But there are people that claims thoughts or topics as if they own it. Like.. someone is good at formulating original thoughts about a certain topic but some are way better on expressing everything into words.

A nice tutorial
