As an introductory to my topic about the medicinal plants that can be found around us. I have talk about the Paragis. It became viral in the social media…It is widespread throughout the social media and facebook newsfeed. Indeed it is the talk of town. I even saw people walking with Paragis in their hands perhaps they want to try the miracle about the grass or the weed.  

 I prepared a PARAGIS TEA for me and for the family members who wants to drink. Well there is no harm in trying afterall its wonders is widely spread even in local conversation as they say. And it cost nothing to have it…it is a weed and can be found along the sidewalk of the road in our place.Yeah, we are living in rural place where this weed countless of their kind grow. Along my way home I looked for it for me to prepare a tea.  

 The known miracle weed is Paragis in Tagalog or Filipino language…It is allegedly said that Paragis has a scientific name of Eleusine indica. There are other names of it in different dialect here in our country English-goose grass

Common name: paragis –tagalong Carabao grass - waray
Gagabutin - ilocano
plagtiki - ilonggo
 

 How to prepare Paragis Tea (My version)   

1. Clean thoroughly the paragis with water. 

2. Boil the paragis in one liter of water for 10 minutes. 

3. Put off the flame and let it cool for sometime until you can drink it.  

 Procedures: 

1. Sprain –grind the paragis leaves on the affected part this will help it heal. 

2. Dandruff –apply the fresh juice extracted from the paragis in the affected part   

3. Irregular Menstration-Drink 1 glass of paragis tea 30 minutes before meal and 1 glass in the afternoon. Repeat procedure as long as you have menstruation and make it sure the tea is hot. 

4. Dysentery. –drink a paragis tea  

5. High Blood Pressure - drink the boiled leaves and stem of paragis.  

6. Worms in the stomach -Drink Paragis Tea

7. Can't urinate -

 These are some of the uses of the Paragis. Maybe along the way as researchers will continue to study about this wonder weed and it will finally be included in the list of the DOH as medicinal plants.   This can help especially for those who are suffering from some kind of illness and don’t have enough money to buy medicines for their illness.
