On Tilt

I made my first big mistake on one of my @drugwars alt accounts. Last night one of my accounts was capped at 130k drugs. I'm not sure how much I lost but I immediately bought a level 5 castle which then caused my drugs to dip to 15k. Now, as I slept, my alcohol would then get capped and I'd lose even more resources.

This is an example of going on tilt. Tilt is something any poker player knows about. You make a mistake, and the stress of that mistakes cascades into one or more subsequent mistakes.

People go on tilt all the time, but they rarely allow themselves to admit it.

After watching @theycallmedan's recent origin stories it really got me thinking about how we all have completely different backgrounds and experiences. It also got me thinking about poker and resulting tilt because @theycallmedan knows all about Black Friday and how online Professional Poker Players got stomped by it. Make no mistake, crypto is going to resurrect Texas Holdem in a big way.

In any case, I was also on tilt yesterday as I talked to @themarkymark. I'd say he handled my needlessly aggressive and insulting tone pretty well.

The point is, we are all here for the same reason. Our similarities far outweigh our differences. We will get a lot farther in a shorter amount of time if we work together.

We all have a lot of different ideas about what our biggest problems are and how to solve them, but I think we'll all look back one day and say:

Wow, those petty squabbles we argued about back in the day didn't matter at all.

The foundation of most problems is a problem with the foundation: Money.

If we fix money, the other problems melt away.

You are probably still tilting since you wrote @durgwars. I have also done huge mistakes in the game even though it is pretty easy to calculate the cost/benefit of the upgrade. Today, for example I came home after work, tired after diagnostics, and upgraded a weapon storage instead of weapon production with 15% ROI. So, we all do a lot of costly mistakes even though we should not. AI will wipe us out soon...

@durgwars! lol

That's why we should stop AI as soon as possible

As for the upgrade, you'll definitely recover it back from your daily reward😀😉

Well, at least you are getting a nice amount of money, I'm still trying to get my investment out, don't really like the game that much, I would rather play Steemmonsters and invest in it, love that game! Now I gotta read that themarkymark post about drugwars... drugwars not "durgwars" xD

Look at this...

Hi @teutonium!

drugwars

Received:

  • 0.344 STEEM from daily
  • 0.000 STEEM from heist
  • 0.000 STEEM from referral

Spent:

  • 1.258 STEEM

Total:

  • -0.914 STEEM

First transfer was before 14.95 days.
Your ROI per day is 1.83 % and you are earning approx. 0.02 STEEM per day.
Break even in approx. 39.7 days.

You only spent 1.2 Steem? I assumed you'd of made that back by now. When did you create the account?

Don't really know, but more or less when the game started, but I had a tough beginning since I screwed up the building order, didn't realize the game had extra tabs xD ... And I'm still a redfish, don't have that much Steem to invest, 60STEEM is like 3 weeks of STEEM for me... maybe next game I'll be producing enough to "invest" into it...

In five years redfish will be the new orca :D

I still need to experience tilt on DrugWars, but I had it many times on Steem Monsters, now even more when tournaments are live which are almost the same as PokerStars tournaments.

When tilt activates I start buying cards like crazy, took me few minutes to realize I was on tilt, I even threw my slipper on the floor and accidentally hit my big toe, I cried in pain and frustration! Tilt is very much real on Steem games.

If you want to go full tilt play leauge of legends for about a month. Thats a type of tilt it takes years to recover from.

Ha, I've made it to platinum rank on LOL.

So Toxic

Definitely the most toxic game I've ever played. It's also one of the most enjoyable game I've come back to when I didn't give a crap about my rank and just tried to make highlight real plays and laugh when I messed up royally. Like flashing into a wall instead of over the wall.

I know this feeling all too well as I often have to shut down immediately after making one bad decision... That is the best way to avoid a string of costly decisions! Sleep and start over the next day!
