And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years," (Genesis 1:14)
He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. (Psalms 104:19)
So the bible tells us that Sun, Moon, and stars are markers that measure time in hours of day by the Sun, weeks and months by the moon, and years with decades by the stars.
Since Moon is the marker for weeks and months, the lunal month consists of 28 days divided by four weeks of 7 days. Therefore the seven day week is part of the lunar calendar, whereas 24 hour day is part of the solar cycle.
The Morning star is any star or planet that rises at the same time with the Sun, so called Helical rising, and it can be rising of Sirius that signals Egyptian agricultural new year (September 11), or it can be Venus as observed by the Europeans.
The Great Year (~24,000 years) or processional cycle is measured by the sunrise during Spring equinoxe with whatever constellation behind it at that time being the Age, hence now we are at the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
