I am not a scientist or an engineer but I like to learn new things and listen to what people are doing. Over the last few months I have encountered people who made me think I was living in " A Wrinkle in Time." Perhaps I am way off base but it was suggested that I ask the community some of the questions that I have been posing. BYW I identify myself as the Naive Expert so I suggest anything that before you blow off my ideas use the phrase:
YES BUT....
And see where it takes you.
So the story begins...
I was recently at a dinner party and the gentleman sitting beside told me about his Father in Law who had just passed away. The old man, in his 90s, had been a scientist who worked on time travel in the 50s and eventually the project was canned but the old guy as he got older began to talk about it. What are they going to do with someone who is in their 80s?
This gentleman I had dinner with wants to build this time machine based off the plans he found in the old man's things.
Then out of the blue a school friend then contacts me and he is now a Quantum Mechanic adapting to emerging economies and mindset energies.
Of course I started to think about how the two topics were interconnected and as I talked about it, people much smarter than me told me that we can travel forward in time but we can't come back.
My first thought was that we don't know how to get back and we should consider blockchain as the permanent path back, we can find our way. A trail of breadcrumbs chaining us back from the future, straight back to the point where we left.
Now here comes the rub.
Will we mess with the fabric of time if we time travel? My thoughts are that if we use it to travel to distant galaxies then that is one thing, more of a Star Trek model. But if we travel to our own future then we mess with our futures and actually don't know what the repercussions will be. Then what if we travel from one reality to another, if they exist.
There are always possibilities that can become realities. In the past perhaps they were buried because the ideas seemed too risky for a number of reasons but today the world is so open, ideas can be spread so easily.
Back to my original question for the community:
Could time travel be a realistic use case for Blockchain?
