This illustration was going to be the first page in a silent kids comic that I put together for submission to a publisher. She was going to be a Narrator that sets some tone and context by way of introduction. Radically rethinking the whole thing, including this character. I really like her, but that's how she goes. Cutting room floor, etc. I wanted to project a feeling of cosy mystery, I think I came close at least!

I just found you thanks to @artzone. I love this piece! I love art with story and this has it in spades and I'd love to read a picture book in this vein. I hope you do more with this series/character. I often find myself in a 'theme' or 'series' and I need to paint it out as the visual story unfolds. I am glad to have found you and you have a new follower :)

Oh it was more like the whole concept of a silent kids comic was a bit too hard to sell. I'm working with a writer to rethink the whole thing as a regular picture book. Glad you like the picture though!
