Last year in one of our most prestigious museum's of Amsterdam, "Stedelijk Museum", I visited an exposition of Jean Tinguely, the Swiss artist who was a multi talent and played a key role in the establishment of the kinetic aka moving art. Since the 50s he created more than 100 machine pieces, most of them working, and mostly combined with other art forms such as films, photos and drawings. Tinguely was a character, his art had that even more; He and his art can be characterised by: absurd play, fascination for destruction and ephemerality.
I love big art; I love art that not only moves me but can move in its own right

Absolutely! And also makes some noise. Some of the art pieces creates painting, a bike to drive it. He even created a book stand with an old phone book on it to kill the time :)

Cool! If you like this kind of moving /living art, you could appreciate our fellow Dutchman (maybe you know him already) Theo Jansen and his project Strandbeest.
