MY TRIP TO THE ISLAND OF TINOS -TO VISIT THE HOLY CHURH OF HOLY MARY!!!

This ship departs every day at 7.30 a.m. from the port of Piraeus for Tinos-Syros-Mykonos islands. It arrives at Tinos around 12 pm and returns at 3 pm for Syros and Piraeus!! I had permission from my job, so I went to Tinos to worship , and on the same day Iturned to Syros for a foyr day. In this post I only refer to Tinos island ,which is not the the first time I went!!

Always when I am on board I like to look at the waves!! I think that I am not the only one , that everyones likes to do that.

It was a sunny and warm day so, I photographed this company to swim , on the opposite rock.

THE PIER OF THE UNSUNG SAILOR

ON MY WAY TO THE CHURCH BY TAKING SOME PICTURES.

IN THE BACKGROUND THE HOLY TEMPLE OF HOLY MARY : many pilgrims go with their knees, cause they have vows!!

In front of the church there is the statue of the pilgrim. I must say that millions of believers come every year to Tinos to worship and especially August 15th that is the feast of the Virgin Mary!!

THE VIEW FROM THE HOLY TEMPLE.

In the church there is a special area devoted to the protection of the Naval Warrior from the Virgin Mary. In August 15th 1940 , during the World War 2, and while the warship "Elli" was anchored at the port of Tinos, for the celebration of the Holy Mary"s sleeping, was torpedoed by the Italians.

THE MIRACULOUS ICON OF HOLY MARY!!! HAVE US ALL WELL AND HELP US!!!!
When the pilgrims go to the church , it becomes always operational!!! It is very distinguished!!!

THE SITE OF SANCTIFICATION! This space is located on the lower floor where the miraculus icon was found!!

ANOTHER ICON ON THE SANCTIFICATION PLACE!

Leaving the church and going to get my ship, i had the opportunity to take some shoots!!

The seagulls are looking for their food and they are polished in the calm waters!!!

I also pulled a very small video as I sat and enjoyed the view....
