Hey everyone, so I've been having this idea for quite a while and I need some help to turn it into reality.
I want a tipbot that will be able to tip Steem to users outside of the Steem platform/blockchain.
The basic functions I have in mind are these:
Let's say I'm on Reddit and stumble upon a great submission or comment I want to tip some Steem to. The receiving user will probably not have a Steem account, so here is what the bot needs to be able to do.
I comment with a tip to this user of 1 Steem.
The bot account replies to the user that 1 Steem has been tipped to him.
In private messages, the tipbot account sends this user a passphrase and some instructions on how to get a Steemit account.
The user, if interested enough to create the account to claim his tip will comment with this passphrase on a post of the tipbot here on Steem and that way receive his tip.
There would be a certain amount of time to claim the tip, say 1 month. Under that time the funds that have been already tipped won't be able to be re-tipped unless the Steem user has loaded up more Steem onto the tipping account.
This should be a tip bot that any Steem user can use.
Reddit is the only site I know this method could work in so far, as Twitter for instance won't always allow you to send private messages to other users.
Let me know your thoughts about this and if there are any better ways you could think of to program this bot.

I will reserve the SBD gained from this post to get the developer started on creating this bot and we can discuss further payment/funding.

Because these resteem bots and tip bots already here. (And I dont get the inhouse tip bot.... If I want to tip here, it is super easy from my wallet)
but YOUR idea is brilliant!!! This could really be a great way to bring quality people to the steemit platform!
You are out on YouTube, or a blog, or facebook or reddit and see someone that has consistently put out great content......would be perfect to tip them and bring them over to enhance the steemit platform!!!

Yeah I've been thinking of ways to spice up the use for the r/steemit subreddit and maybe find the time to use Reddit itself a bit again considering all my time is going to Steemit lately. ^^

If you are bringing over top shelf people, it would be a good excuse for 'bar hopping' outside of steemit for a bit!
But maybe wait for the ddos or glitch shit to get sorted out first... I feel like users brand new right now probably think steemit is a f'n joke because of the uv and post and comment error problems.

Ah, this is reminiscent of that dogecoin tipping bot that was really popular on reddit for awhile. But, you know, not a silly meme coin, lol. I think this could be a great idea to help boost interest in Steemit while also just being a nice thing to do for users over on Reddit. Hopefully you can find someone to develop it for you, man. I'm sure there's plenty of talented programmers on here who would be up to the task :)

It does only work when you tip him Steem or SDB right? What means it is different than voting on content that is on the Steem blockchain. You have to spend your currency. Which is a great idea by itself for promoting steem!
But what if we can have some trusted authority the can collect votes (and tips) for specific content urls the internet.
This steembot would create a post on the blockchain that will identify the content outside the blockchain via URL, Accountname or anything else.
In this case you not just could tip him, you could also vote for this placeholder post. The bot collects author rewards and tips.
The only problem is when someone wants to withdraw his collected earnings that he needs to identify himself. Without a proper way to send him a passphrase and keeping him up to date with the earnings it's difficult to ensure the funds don't end up in the wrong pocket. It only works for content where there is a private communication possible.
But what about funds that aren't withdrawn after a few weeks?

Really great way to bring more quality bloggers and content creators to steemit. I can see myself using it actually. If there were weekly posts of people that have been tipped I would gladly go along and tip them some extra so they have even more incentive to check out steemit.
Imagine a 'steemit tipping squad' who all at the same time go tipping a popular blogger so it adds up to 50$-100$.

This might also work on Facebook, as you can send private messages... but I don't know how a bot there might work, or anything about the technical side. Perhaps a bot that is solely on the steemit side, and you copy and paste a message with a link about how to collect the tip?

not sure if possible on other media platforms, but for Reddit 100% doable. There is a guy who raised $35k in ICO to implement tipping on Reddit via native API, maybe you can nudge him in the right direction? Unfort. I do not know him personally, but I can tell he has at least a decent humor (and marketing skills). He named the tipping coin a FK coin (if you want to tip Reddit user, you'd have to type !fk given in the comment field, not a joke). Perhaps, you can reach out to him...

as a producer of such a brilliant idea and its implementation, it may be more effective to post adverts for developers on the actual (trusted) developer networks - as such a strategy may be more effective than fishing here on Steem, which is the "end user audience"
