Anyone owning Bitcoin can now support their favorite authors on Steem without needing to even have a Steem account.

The benefit of tipping via Steemium instead of giving BTC directly is that that the post also get an increased visibility which is likely to grow the content creator's audience and attract organic votes in the future.

We noticed that many content creator add their Bitcoin address in their signature for donations.
