Will you give your toothbrush a second life?
Did you know you should replace your toothbrush every three months? That means that if you can’t remember when you bought your current brush, it might be time to buy a new one. Don’t throw out your old one right away, though, because you can easily repurpose it with this great trick.
We always keep used toothbrushes for this reason.
Cleaning
We’ve mentioned this tip in some of our articles before, but we thought it was high time to make an entire article about this: cleaning with your old toothbrush. Toothbrushes are the perfect tool to clean small nooks and crannies with, like the edge between the counter and the wall, the grout between tiles and the edges of the bathtub. That’s why it’s a good idea to put an old toothbrush in with your other cleaning stuff. It will often come in handy!
Trick
The head of the brush is ideal to clean grout with, but since a toothbrush is so stiff and rigid, it can still be difficult to reach every nook and cranny. That’s why we’ve got this very smart little trick for you! Put a pot of water on the stove and bring it up to a boil. Put the toothbrush in there and leave it to boil for about 10 minutes. Now, carefully take out the toothbrush using a pair of tongs or pliers. The plastic will have gone soft, which means you can bend the brush in exactly the shape you need to reach certain corners. Bend the head a little bit backwards; this will make it easier to clean with.
