My tips for Success on Steem

in tips •  7 years ago  (edited)

Tool of trade

While working up towards what I consider a successful future on Steem, I've set down some guidelines for myself to follow. I will now publish them for all others to gaze and wonder about. Hopefully these can serve as tips for anyone else struggling to make it here.

My 8 Tips for artists and content creators on Steem

  1. Be active and consistent
    • Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly schedule is important. Follow yours strictly.
    • Do separate schedules for updates and art. Gives your content structure.
    • Holidays are for wussies (Don't kill yourself by overworking though.)
  2. Keep them engaged
    • A fan who gets a response from you will likely be back for more. Others will too. ("Notice me Sempai!")
    • A constant dialog between the artist and the community (or fan base) is essential for your success.
  3. Don't beg for recognition
    • This doesn't go well. Really. Don't do it.
    • Begging for recognition will hurt those who are genuinely in need.
    • Consider your reputation, especially on Steem. Don't do it.
  4. If you don't at first succeed, try, try again!
    • Success doesn't come to you, you will have to get it!
    • Success doesn't happen overnight.
    • Work hard, take a good rest and repeat.
    • If this fails, try again.
  5. If after consecutive tries you still don't succeed, don't blame others.
    • No-one but you is accountable for your mistakes.
    • Blame game will hurt your success, don't do it.
    • Consider if you did something wrong at #4. Maybe your art or content needs more work.
    • Blaming your audience will get you alienated, don't do it!
  6. Take a positive approach
    • Every day is a new day
    • Immerse yourself in things you love doing.
    • Even if you don't always feel good, keep doing what you do best.
    • In doing the things you love you will eventually find your success.
  7. Mistakes will happen
    • Nothing is forever, success is frail
    • Suck it up and make amends. Read #4.
  8. The fault is not always yours.
    • If you know you didn't do anything wrong, own up to it and keep posting.
    • Your art, your audience, your rules.
    • Keep up, whatever it is you love doing.

Sometimes you will fall.
Sometimes you will fall

I am personally still working on it, confident I will one day make it and confident I won't stop working when I do. Success is not actually real if you are not prepared to constantly aspire towards it after you've reached it once. Don't use it, you lose it.

And if you do fall. Get up, and try again!

Yes, what you wrote is a recipe for success! Great observations. See, I never think what the rules are, I just do it... but if I just came and read this nice structure, I 'd probably be up and running sooner. Must read for every newbie.

I do agree with you that this list is very comprehensive covering the whole process from physical side of creating the post or art work to the emotional cycle of starting, proceeding, confronting reality of success and failure!
Actually this list is very well structure and should be included in the introduction to Steemit menu!
This would have made quite a difference and lessen the pain of growing up!!

Thanks a million @gamer00!

Voted, resteem and following you too.
Cheers.

All very uplifting advice. I also suggest beong general but finding your specialisation, yor thing, something you know most about. And never give up!

Excellent tips! Consistency is the key!!

Good tips thank you, I feel the same at some stage just try to keep schedules to post every day. Its awesome when some upvote avalanche hits you out of the blue. I felt a bit down the last few days, and thought might be just waste of time because only a handful of people sees my previous posts. Then bang one of my post hit the jackpot. I am so grateful and thinking how can I do better quality content, every time. Happy steeming 😊

Do you have a Steemit routine? Thanks for the comment. I hope you have a WONDERFUL day! FOLLOWING YOU!

Quite random, I have a little girl to look after and quite busy during the day. I work nights, and try to fit in steeming posts whenever I can. Its not easy belive me...

I'm lucky, have never had to work nights! Must be difficult! How many times a week do you post on average?

Try to do every day, at least one or one resteem, sometimes more why you asking?

Just curious. Thinking about getting into some kind of routine.

This is a very good strategy. Thank you for taking the time to write it up and present it so well.

Keep it going! No blaming and keep the hustle. Still lack of the consistency though 😂😅really not that easy. Thanks for the motivative post 😁

Consistency can be learned. Make it a personal challenge to post at least once a week or once a day, keep books on it, and it should soon become second nature. :) If not and it fails, try again. :)

Thanks @gamer00. Appreciate the advice and will definitely take up the challenge.

of course.. thanks.

Following, voted and resteemed. Thanks for a great post and thanks for sharing. Success or failure is just a reflection of our current dominating belief system. If you really want to succeed, eventually, you will be no matter what.

If you want to speed up your success, all you have to do is get rid of your current dominating failure belief system:

You said it all in a way thats emulative. We know human being are limited in some things. Can you help to list/discuss things that are beyond human control that affects our success. Great post friend.

Consistancy is my way of gouing about.

Yep, cool post. I also think that keeping things fun, and writing/posting because you enjoy creating words or art, or sharing information is important.

Also, I think being open and honest with what you do is important too.

This kind of enjoyment, and honesty and positivity shows through in posts, and I think people gravitate towards it.

Cheers. :)

So true, we need to be consistent and have patient. :)

your hardwork let me and all others here to comment on your post <3 keep it up <3 great tips :)
