If you answered yes to any of these question, then this is the right place to be at this particular second(reading this blog-post).

I will begin with my story,i joined Steemit after hearing that you can make money posting,commenting and even replying!!(I was like whoa).

I am sure most of you ended up here just like me( the allure of making money being on social media i.e posting,commenting and replying).

I hit the sign up button and guess what i became a Steemian,that was in July and my account was idle until June when i saw a Facebook Ad by one of our top blogger here @jerrybanfield.He talked extensively about the merits of Steemit.

In June i made my first post which was introduce-yourself and it earned me 0.57$,i was excited.
The excitement continued and i made my second post,guess how much i earned...0.00$ and even my third post earned that same amount!

What do you do if you are in that situation? Be Honest with me.
I thought of quitting!
After that frustrating early experience,i paused an began reading intensively.

Today am going to show you 3 Things that i learned and applied and got me results!

The 3 Things i Learned That made me feel Happy About My Progress On Steemit

1.Reputation Score

Reputation Score is the number you see next to your useraname,for me currently it is at 37.

How To Increase Reputation Score

Many of you may be wondering how to increase this number.When we sign up for Steemit we all have a score of 25 and we work it up to the top.

The Repuation Score is a way Steemit categories content on the system,the higher the Reputaion Score,the higher the chance your content will be seen.
People with a higher score have added value to the community.

It is harsh to say that some Steemians here do not read content from Steemians below a certain Reputation score(however good your content is!).

It is always advisable to grow your score first and that is when most people will begin seeing your content.
My score had stuck at 27 for almost a month until a read of how i can grow it as listed below.

• Comment on People's Blogs.
  Leave meaningful and well thought comments on people's blogs.Please do not leave comments such as "Thanks ,Good Info, etc" I did leave meaningful comments and my my score rose from 27 to 37 in one week.
• Reply on other's comments on Your Blog .
  This is a great way of connecting to anyone who comments on your blog and there is a higher likelihood they follow you.
• Post Valuable Content.
  This is obvious here,Steemit pays you for creating valuable content or adding value to the community.
• Never Give Up
  Yes Never give up on Steemit.Anything worthwhile takes time to achieve,keep learning
  If you do this, trust me your score will shoot up.

2.Power Up,Power Down,SBD

I had been on steemit for a month,but this words had always confused me.
It was after intensive reading that i got to learn of this words and i can now explain them freely to any new person.
1.Power Up
This simply means Converting Steem into Steem Power.
Steem Power(SP) is like a share you hold on the Steemit Community.The more Steem Power you have the bigger your upvotes weigh.
The more you SP have, the more you earn for yourself and the more you provide to those whose articles you up vote for.
As a beginner you should work to grow your Steem Power by Powering Up or even buying Steem from the external market.

2.Power Down
This means to convert Steem Power to Steem.(AS a beginner you do not need to really know much about this!)
3. SBD
Steem Dollars(SBD) is the currency people get paid in when they are upvoted.
Steem Dollars cannot be traded in the outside market,it must be converted to Steem
As a beginner you might see some figure on your wallet now,i have a great article here that helped me Power up for the first time(and i felt like a king!).
I had 0.239 Steem dollars and it converted to 0.196 Steem and finally that converted into 0.927 Steem Power(My First ever Transaction!)
