How to make simple paper flowers: flower of crepe paper and tissue
In terms of decorations to be made for the home or in view of an event, there is only the embarrassment of choice. Today we learn how to make simple paper flowers, origami to understand each other. In this guide we will teach you two different types of flowers, using a specific type of paper for each. We are going to do so:
- origami flowers with cardboard;
- flowers with crepe paper;
- flowers with tissue paper.
Each type of flower will be accompanied by photos and video tutorials, so as to have a precise picture of the actions to be carried out for the realization. However, as you will see, these jobs are really very easy, so much so that you can also make paper flowers with your children or, if you are a teacher, propose them to your pupils at school.
How to make paper flowers with cardboard
In the past we had already talked about how to make a paper dahlia, beautiful to hang on the door like a back door, and how to make a picture with flowers of recycled paper. We will now focus on the creation of a single paper flower. We will explain the basics of the technique, then it is your creativity that will customize it all.
To make this simple paper flower you need it:
- plus colored cards (square shape, 12x12cm)
- clippers
- vinavil glue
Procedure:
- Take the cardboard and fold it in two, making a diagonal line in the centre.
- cut along the diagonal, thus obtaining two triangles
- work now on only one of the triangles
- Take the corner of the longest side of your triangle, and bring the tip to the top corner, as well as in photos
- press the side well
- Do the same with the other corner with the other corner
- You will thus get a small rhombus
- now, fold one of the wings of the roar on itself, as well as in photos
- Make sure that the side of the wing and the side of the turbot are aligned.
- pressed well on the edges
- Repeat with the other wing
- Now, take the tips of the two fins, and fold them inward, as in the photo
- take glue
- glued all the blades to each other
- start from the side fins and then glue the two main fins to each other, as in photos
- Push along the edges to make the glue stick tightly.
- This is the result you need to get
- Now, make other petals and then glue them to each other to have a full flower.
- If you wish, you can customize the flower with some decoration
After the photographic tutorial, let's move on to the video tutorial of how to make paper flowers, which we discovered on YouTube on the HappyWitch channel28:
If you are looking for a placeholder to do very quickly, then we recommend our guide on how to make a rose with a paper napkin.
How to make crepe paper flowers
Crepe paper is one of my favourites, because it allows many uses for decorations. In fact, with the following tutorial we will learn how to make a crêpe paper rose: I can assure you that it's very easy to do, but that the effect is really amazing!
That is what we need:
- iron wire (one slightly more double for the shank, the other very thin)
- glue
- Red crepe paper
- Green crepe paper
- Green florist ribbon
- clippers
- gripper
- wadding
- thick cardboard (for shapes of petals and corolla leaves)
How to proceed:
- Take the cardboard thick, draw the shape of a heart and cut out: it will be your shape for the petal.
- Now, take the red frizzy paper and draw a lot of hearts (the quantities you'll decide according to the volume you want to give your rose or how many flowers you'll want to make)
- cut out the various petals
- now, take each petal and open it slightly by stretching the paper.
- give a hint of curve at the upper ends of the petal, slightly curling the sides with scissors (as if you wanted to make a hedgehog to a gift bow, but with much more delicacy)
- now, cut a piece of coarse iron wire
- by helping you with a clamp, hook the top of the iron wire.
- Take the wadding and make a small "pon pon pon" at the end.
- cover this bridge with red crepe paper.
- Close with the thin wire of iron, as in photos
- Continue to stick the petals on top of each other until you have achieved the desired size.
- enlarged and arranged the petals
- Now, take the thick cardboard and cut out a small triangle: it will be your base for making the shapes of the corolla of leaves to be placed immediately under the petals.
- Take the green crepe paper, draw the triangles and cut them out.
- stretch the crêpe paper a little bit
- now, glue them to the base of the red petals (please note, don't need too many!), just as in the photo
- now, take the florist ribbon and, starting from above, cover the whole coarse iron thread.
- fact! Your crinkle paper rose is ready!
You can also use tissue paper to make this flower. Keep in mind, however, that the effect will be different from the one in the photo, and that you will surely have to make many more petals to have a voluminous rose.
