My First Week on Steemit !, The Beginning of This GREAT Experience ...

in tkc •  7 years ago  (edited)

Good day Steemians, it is a pleasure for me to write this article where I want to tell about this wonderful week (and 2 days) that I have in Steemit. I admit that I started with some skepticism (like most) when they told me everything that this platform could offer me. However, here I am.

I registered on December 29 (if I remember correctly) of 2017 and Steemit approved my account on 31st, that day I decided to write and upload my first article before going to my grandmother's house, where the family meets on December highlight dates, or at least the family that remains in the country🙃. Soon I will do the '' introduceyourself '' that I have seen everybody apparently do, but only saying that most of my family is not in the country and everyone knows that I am from Venezuela (or a country in crysis but whatever I'm Venezuelan).

I entered this community (motivated by money, I am not gonna lie) because the person who presented Steemit to me said:

It's an excellent way to: improve your writing, share what you like, introduce yourself in the world of cryptocurrency, connect with people from all over the world, make some extra money, use your free time for something productive.

And to be honest, he was right in everything he said. Until a week ago I had not written an article with the formality I write here for example, and I never expected to reach 50 followers in my first week. It's true, there are profiles that are doing better, but with the fact that I have other responsibilities up to date (University for example) which means that I'm not dedicated to this full time, I think I'm doing well.

Yes, I spent this week using every spare time I have to learn how to take advantage of this environment as best as possible, concepts like 'Power Down' or delegate Steam Power, Bid-Vote Bots, Promote publications in Discord, Make life in communities, enter the cryptocurrency market to carry an analysis (I'm not so good yet) to the day of how are the ones that interest me and those that stand out, etc. In short, it has been a week of a lot of new information that I do not regret.

One of the funniest things was that in my first publication I had some luck and some '' Whale '' (Another concept I learned) gave me his vote, which led the publication to generate a little more than $ 50, and after the 7 days elapsed they became 3 SP and 19 SBD (Woohoo!), so I took the amount of how much it was if I changed it to Bitcoin and then I how much I would get if I sell those BTCs in Bolivars (local currency, for those not from Venezuela and ignore their currency) and gave me a total of almost 20 million bolivars, the digit sounds exorbitant but they are around 160 dollars (Much in this terrible time Venezuela is going through), and to be honest things seemed pretty good realizing that it was my first publication and by that I only had hours registered. Anyway, at that moment I started taking things a little more seriously, and although I do not have time to loose, I try to manage it as best as possible so I can dedicate a certain amount to Steemit but without lowering the quality of my articles, without altering my performance in college or deviating from other projects I have (What reminds me, I'm doing an Android game with some friends from University and I would like to share it with you, so I take this space to ask you to go through the Facebook page and Instagram profile that were created to promote it, the game is still in development, we hope to have a stable Alpha version by the end of January that can be played, through the networks we will upload the link to the Play Store and announce the progress, thank you for your support in advance.). Finally, I did a little research and I invested those 19 SBD that I had achieved so far to get to experiment with the Bots that vote for you through a bid system that takes place every 2.4 hours, I found many interesting pages that guided me and although my investment was not the most optimal (I achieved only a little more than what I invested), I assure you that the next one will be much better.

To conclude what I thought was going to be a much shorter article, I want to thank all those people who supported me from the beginning @twiningenious, my teammates in the development of apps and who introduced me to this world (although they hadn't been able to continue on Steemit at the moment because of TIME), @hr1 who has voted every one of my posts (or most) since I started and it was from whom I started to see those precious cents that motivated so much at the beginning, @cervantes who are the authors of that $ 29 vote that propelled my first post to $50, thanks to them I am still motivated 100% to learn more and more, and all those people who comment or vote each of the articles that I upload and that at this moment I do not remember their usernames BUT they will always be in my 💚. Great week, full of learning ... and what's comming.

That was basically everything I want to share with you today. but to say goodbye I want to leave a list of tutorials that I have been keeping throughout this week and that have helped me soak into this comunity Steemit is, I hope they serve you as much as or more than me.

Converting Steem/SBD to Bitcoin

Delegating Steem Power
How to Power Down your Steem, I think that guide isn't updated by the fact now your Steem is divided in 13 parts not 14, and other stuff I don't remember right now..

Markdown guide

Make your Image/Gif a Link
Some Emojis to add on your post/comments

There are tons of tutorials, but those are the ones I saved.

English speaking servers in Discord: If you do not use Discord then start right now, there are many tutorials on the internet so it is useless to place one here when you can go and watch the one you like the most. It is a SUPER tool when it comes to promoting your posts and your content in general, creating relationships with the Steemit community, inspiring you for upcoming articles or conversations that take place there, etc., etc. Using Discord is highly recommended. The servers I follow are:
