This morning my daughter woke me up at 6, like every morning. I was still really tired, but, well there is no excuse if your 2-year-old wants you to stand up. After I put clothes on her, it was around 6.20, she said she wanted to go out. Out of the house. I could not even hold my eyes open correctly and it was dark as night outside. So I said
she paused, looked at me seriously, and answered:
Another day
I walked over the market and heard a little girl say to her Mother :
That is one of the truest things I have ever heard. I wonder if that girl could still eat meat after that huge insight.
Here you can see another prove about the wisdom of children. Last summer, I had to stop at every flower with her, because she needed to smell it. She took her time, sat down, gave the plants a bow and deeply inhaled. Then she turned to me and told me how beautiful the smell of this amazing miracle of nature was. Well, to be honest, she said "yummy."
Children know how to take their time, and much too often I find myself wanting her to hurry with me, to not be in the moment. But then she reminds me, that we have time. That we can be happy about being alive and healthy. And that might sound cheesy, but if you ever experienced a huge grief or sickness, you know what I am talking about. You just learn how to appreciate the "little" things, that are actually the big things.
That's me as a (maybe) 9-year-old. Loving it to be in nature and with animals. My daughter keeps reminding me of this girl, that is still me.

Children have a very special intelligence that we lose when we move into adulthood. We think too much, take things too seriously and just don't know how to perceive all the simplicity that is available to us in every moment. Children are at a heighten state and their ability to learn and absorb information is incredible. They have a lot that they can teach us, we just need to respect them as little individuals who can offer us as much insight as we can to them. You're daughter is beautiful and I recognise that first picture very well!
