Nicolas Cage “Not the bees!”
Anyone who spends a bit too much time on the internet will be familiar with this meme. Nicholas Cage shouting on the top of his lungs while bees being poured onto him, such an iconic scene. Sadly, it is memorable for all the wrong reasons. The aforementioned scene hails from Wicker Man (2006), which is well-known for being a terrible movie. In the film, Cage, acting as a policeman, investigates a secret cult in a remote island, only to get caught up in the torturous practices of the inhabitants. While the story in itself was terrible, Cage's over-the-top acting made this apparent horror film seem like a comedy. The bees spelled disaster for this famous actor.
Dwayne Johnson
Usually, you can smell what the Rock is cooking. But when his film is especially bad, the smell is especially pungent. Dwayne Johnson's role in Tooth Fairy (2010) is known by his fans as his worst performance of all time. The movie in itself not only had a nonsensical plot, the Rock was just not the right person to act as the tooth-fairy. His usual fun demeanor and rugged looks never had a chance to shine, and the film
ended up being a laughing stock even for the most loyal Dwayne fans. The Rock did find redemption in some of his later films, but “the tooth hurts” when it comes to bad performances.
Carmen Electra
It's kind of difficult to judge just one disappointing performance by Carmen Electra, because, despite her fame, she is one of the most prominent names in the Razzie Awards. With four nominations and a win for two films in the same year, she has proven time and time again the immortal proverb “all that glitters is not gold”. Most of her roles consist of flashy appeals that has more to do with her looks than her actual skills. Her roles in Date Movie (2006), Meet the Spartans (2007) and Disaster Movie (2008)are revered as some of her most unbearable performances, with Scary Movie 4 (2006) being arguably her worst work.
Halle Berry
Halle Berry is an acclaimed actor who had won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2002. But that's not to say she didn't have her share of bad roles as well. Just two years after her Academy Award win, Halle Berry performed as the titular character of the DC Comics-inspired film Catwoman (2004), which is to this day considered one of the worst movies of the superhero genre. Her acting was so negatively received that it granted her a Golden Raspberry or Razzie Award, which is given to the worst films and worst actresses.
Tom Cruise
We are all used to seeing the ever-ravishing Tom Cruise as the special agent Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible movie series. In his newest film The Mummy (2017), Tom Cruise dons the attire of a US military soldier who gets involved in an ancient mystery surrounding an evil spirit. While the film is more or less meant to be an action film of the same mold Tom Cruise is used to, his performance was incredibly disappointing. His expressions were too bland at times and even at serious moments he couldn't keep a stern face on. Expectations were betrayed when watching this film, to say the least.
