My New Hatchet

Tonight I want to show off a hatchet I got for Christmas. It's a Estwing. Holding it, it's really obvious that it's a quality piece of work.

It's made in the USA, with the main body being a single piece of forged steel.

The handle is wrapped in leather and laquered.

The head is wide enough to do a bit of splitting, but not so wide as to feel unwieldy.

It feels well balanced in the hand and is really a finely crafted tool. I look forward to the chance to use it.
